Mark Hitchcock Memorial Super Show

WrestleCon has announced a myriad of guests for its annual convention already. They have also begun to announce the names for their annual offering to the biggest wrestling week of the year: the Mark Hitchcock Memorial Super Show. It’s gained a reputation of having some of the biggest and brightest stars in wrestling and 2020 looks to be no different.

The first major talent announcement would be Shingo Takagi from Los Ingobernables de Japon. The Dragon of LIJ will be making his WrestleCon debut and has also been announced for other shows in the week, such as for Pro Wrestling Revolver’s Pancakes and Piledrivers IV. Shingo won the A Block of 2019’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament, losing to B Block winner, Will Ospreay of CHAOS. He hasn’t made any appearances for companies other than NJPW affiliated partners since 2018, so this will be a real treat.

Speaking of Will Ospreay, the three-time former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion will also be part of the WrestleCon Mark Hitchcock Memorial Super Show. Ospreay has also been announced for several other appearances that week, so fans will have many opportunities to see him. He’s been on every Supershow since 2016, so it’s good to see him continue this tradition. Ospreay had a helluva 2019, winning the Best of The Super Juniors and competing in the G1 Climax, Super J Cup, New Japan Cup, and Super Junior Tag League tournaments.

Another Brit who will be joining the fun is Zack Sabre Jr. The current RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion has only appeared at the Mark Hitchcock Memorial Super Show a couple of times before. ZSJ has finally put the ghost of SANADA behind him, so now he’s ready to turn up the heat in 2020. Joining The Submission Specialist are a pair of luchadors, one of which very well known in the US these days. Bandido, current PWG World champion and 1/3 of the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions will be making his third appearance at the Mark Hitchcock Memorial Super Show. Since signing with ROH, he’s only broadened his appeal and continued to put on critically acclaimed matches.

Joining Bandido will be an emerging star on the world stage, Black Taurus. He first appeared during WrestleMania week in 2019 at Joey Ryan’s Penis Party and WrestleCon US vs. The World. This will be his first appearance for the central event of WrestleCon. These are just the first five talents that have been announced for this show, which is always a star-studded affair. Over eighty wrestling personalities have been announced for the convention itself, including those who are wrestling at the Mark Hitchcock Memorial Super Show.
