At last night’s Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) Fight Club tapings, a new Zero-G Champion was crowned as Leyton Buzzard won the title from Liam Thomson in a match that wasn’t even scheduled to happen until the 9th Annual Square Go! on February 2nd.

In the opening match of the night, The Captain defeated arch-rival Kieran Kelly to determine who would go on to challenge The Bad Boy at the ninth annual over the tap event at the start of February. However, with Thomson issuing an open challenge later on in the night, Leyton seized the opportunity, using his trademark 450 splash to win his first taste of ICW gold.
With the win, it continues Leyton’s incredible rise to prominence in ICW throughout 2019. After having a falling out with former mentor Joe Hendry and the rest of The Dallas Mavericks, Buzzard would become one of ICW’s biggest fan favourites, defeating both The Prestigious One and former IMPACT Wrestling star James Storm in the same weekend as part of Shug’s Hoose Party 6. A recent loss to Noam Dar at Fear & Loathing XII in a Triple Threat Match alongside Kieran Kelly was nothing more than a loss to Leyton, it did nothing to set him back even just the slightest.
While this may be his first taste of championship glory in ICW, it isn’t the first title Leyton Buzzard has won, as he captured the Scottish Wrestling Alliance (SWA) Scottish X Championship from Kieran Kelly earlier this year, while he also came out victorious in the annual King of Cruisers Match for Premier British Wrestling (PBW). That match also involved Lucha DS, Lou King Sharp, Darren Vice, John Trettan, and Angel Hayze.
