Buffalo…And Beyond: “The Remix” Kevin Bennett is Coming

On Wednesday, Beyond Wrestling released a video from Brandon Thurston, who denied Jay Freddie‘s request for another match at Uncharted Territory on Thursday night. Instead, Thurston is sending one of his students, “The Remix” Kevin Bennett, to fight Freddie in his steed. The arrival of Bennett to Beyond Wrestling adds yet another member of “The Buffalo Brothers”, a tight-knit clique of wrestlers from the Buffalo indie scene that features veterans Brandon Thurston and The Butcher & The Blade, plus hot rising stars like “Red Death” Daniel Garcia, Puf, Kevin Blackwood, and Anthony Gaines. With Bennett set to appear this Thursday, only Gaines remains to have appeared for Beyond this season.

The group of wrestlers are all regulars with Buffalo’s Empire State Wrestling (ESW), where both Thurston and “The Blade” Pepper Parks are trainers. The others are all students of Thurston and/or Parks are all exploding in the Canadian and Northeast US indies. They frequently work for Smash Wrestling in Toronto, Ontario – where Kevin Bennett is the reigning Smash Champion – as well as Limitless Wrestling in Maine, amongst an ever-expanding road schedule that is taking them across the country.

Kevin Bennett was also involved in that tragic auto accident last winter when several of the Buffalo Brothers were severely injured in a car accident en route home from Quebec. While Bennett and Puf suffered lesser injuries, Garcia and Blackwood missed a large chunk of 2019 with serious leg injuries. Now they’re all back in action and reaching out to larger audiences, thanks in part to their appearances with Beyond Wrestling over the past two seasons in some capacity. If Bennett looks somewhat familiar, however, it may be because he’s made several appearances for the WWE in backstage vignettes, as well as facing Andrade on an episode of SmackDown in early 2018.
