We stated in our show preview that this would be a good time to belt up Iwatani as the Icon Of Stardom is one of the company’s most well-known stars and with the new owners Bushiroad being more aggressive in growing Stardom it would just make sense to put the top title on someone as popular and talented as Mayu.
Iwatani becomes only the second-ever two-time World Of Stardom Champion, joining Io Shirai, and adds to her already insane resume in Stardom which has seen her capture almost every title in Stardom as well as being a former Women Of Honor Champion, which saw her wrestle at Madison Square Garden.
After her first reign ended due to an unfortunate injury Iwatani now gets the chance to have the run on top that she deserves as she leads Stardom into their new era as their World Of Stardom Champion.
