For the last few weeks, Trent Seven and Noam Dar have been at each other’s throats following Dar’s personal press conferences where he’s claimed to be the best wrestler in the NXT UK locker room. A match between the pair a few weeks ago saw the former NXT Tag Team Champion get himself disqualified by laying a beating on the Cruiserweight Classic competitor. This time around though, Seven was out to pick up a victory over his rival, even though Noam would continue to antagonise him by both ambushing him prior to the match, and once again using his towel. Unfortunately for The Scottish Supernova, it wasn’t enough to deter Trent as he picked up the win with his signature Birminghammer finisher, despite picking up injuries to both his arm and his left knee throughout the contest.
Gang Warfare
Opening the show were the intimidating force known as Imperium, who were quick to claim that there’s no other group who could possibly stand face to face with them after they rid NXT UK of British Strong Style (even though Tyler Bate and Trent Seven are still officially part of the roster, it’s just Pete Dunne who’s off to the US Performance Center). It didn’t take long for them to be interrupted by Gallus, with Joe Coffey and the brand new NXT UK Tag Team Champions Mark Coffey and Wolfgang thanking the European squad for ridding the roster of BSS, before laughing at Imperium for claiming that they’re the best unit in NXT UK. According to Joe, it didn’t matter that WALTER had the WWE United Kingdom Championship over his shoulder because Gallus were still the superior force. Although the altercation didn’t turn physical this time around, Imperium and Gallus have now entered war to offcially determine the most dominant trio in NXT UK right now.

Travis Banks and Ligero squared off this week, with both men looking to get their NXT UK careers on track to enter their names into the United Kingdom Championship picture. An epic bout between the tow ensued as you’d expect from both men. The Kiwi Buzzsaw and The Mexican Sensation both had each other scouted, avoiding the other’s finisher as Ligero dodged out the way of the Slice of Heaven whereas Banks tossed his opponent away as he went for the C4L. When the time came for the end of the match though, a backslide saw both men’s shoulders to the mat, with referee Joel Allen declaring the match a draw. Both men have made it known that they’d be up for a rematch, and I’m sure all you lovely readers would agree with that.

The inaugural NXT UK Tag Team Champions The Grizzled Young Veterans returned to competition for the first time in a few weeks, as Zack Gibson and James Drake took on the pairing of Ashton Smith and Oliver Carter, with Carter volunteered to be Smith’s tag partner for this match with the former tag champs. While they may not be a proper time, Ashton and Oliver did get in some pretty good offence, but it was never going to be enough as Gibson and Drake utilised the Ticket to Mayhem to gain the three count. They continued their assault post-match, but would eventually be ran off by Flash Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews, the team who won the tag titles from The GYV at NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff. Seeing as Webster and Andrews have since lost the titles themselves to Gallus, these two teams are looking to get back on track to earn another crack at the tag titles.
What Else?
In addition, Xia Brookside spoke to the camera following her victory over Nina Samuels last week, claiming that she’s going to work her way back up to where she belongs. Plus, it was revealed that next week will mark a bout between Jordan Devlin and Dave Mastiff, as well as official NXT UK in-ring debut of Spanish sensation A-Kid.
Please note, next week’s episode of NXT UK will air at 4PM GMT due to Crown Jewel taking place in the evening.
