TNA Returning For One Night; IMPACT Offers Generation Me vs MCMG to Bucks

On Saturday night, one half of the IMPACT World Tag Team Champions The North, “All Ego” Ethan Page, revealed that IMPACT Wrestling was bringing back their old moniker – Total Nonstop Action (TNA) for a one-night event over WrestleMania 2020 week in Tampa, Florida. The news was officially announced by IMPACT Executive Scott D’Amore during the IMPACT All Glory event on Twitch.

Page’s comments on the one-night-only event prompted all kinds of reminiscing from fans and peers alike, but one response caught some real attention. When Matt Jackson, one half of All Elite Wrestling‘s Young Bucks, replied with a photo of he and brother Nick’s time in TNA as the tag team Generation Me.

The image from Matt Jackson prompted a reply from Scott D’Amore, who opened the door for a potential rematch from one of Generation Me’s best feuds from their time in TNA, against former TNA World Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin. As D’Amore mentioned, “no politics, no BS, just wrestling.”

For much of 2010, Motor City Machine Guns and Generation Me feuded across the country, on episodes of IMPACT Wrestling, at TNA House Shows, and even at several PPVs, such as TNA Destination X in a #1 Contenders Match, TNA No Surrender, TNA Bound for Glory and TNA Final Resolution.

The two teams had met previously, having a few wars in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) in 2009, and then post-TNA with battles in Ring of Honor and NJPW from 2014 through 2018.

Whether AEW would allow the Young Bucks a “one off” to take part in an IMPACT Wrestling event is yet to be determined, but it certainly brought back memories of two of the greatest tag teams of the past decade and their rivalry that lasted for much of that ten years.
