Preview: Northeast Wrestling (NEW) – Autumn Ambush (10/19/19)

Northeast Wrestling (NEW) is one of the few indie promotions that I have gone to for the last seven years, and with the promotion’s endless way of making new partners within AEW, WWE Alumni and making their ways around the wrestling landscape, by giving thousands of fans from Waterbury, CT, Poughkeepsie, NY, and their resident home in Bethany, CT, top quality pro wrestling, NEW has become even more popular then ever in the United States Eastern Independent Scene. This Friday, Northeast Wrestling will be doing their next show, with names of Darby Allin, JT Dunn, Christian Casanova and NEW King, Brian Anthony and so much more. Hello, Beautiful People of LWOS, My name is Hymantor and today I’m going to give you a preview of this show labeled “Autumn Ambush” that will happen on October 19th.

NOTE: For Northeast Wrestling Shows, NEW often uploads their shows to the Highspots Network or their own network two weeks later.

DL Hurst vs. Cody Vance

The first match of the show, according to the website with both men making their debut for the company. Firstly, DL Hurst has been on Beyond Wrestling‘s Uncharted Territory and has only wrestled for about three years, primarily on the East Coast Scene with the likes of Limitless Wrestling and Chaotic Wrestling and has shown promise to NEW’s Roster. Cody Vance, on the other hand, is the veteran of this contest with two more years of experience and primarily known for his work in the Southern indie scene, after starting out with the Monster Factory in 2015. With both men making their debut for the company, we could defiantly say that these two could become regulars on the Northeast Wrestling Roster. It should be an interesting bout to showcase the promising future of Northeast Wrestling Scene. Not only for this company. But for many companies in the coming future.

Hale Collins vs. Chris Battle

Photo: NEW

Chris Battle and Hale Collins are both staples of the NEW Roster, with Chris Battle being an under-carder for as long as we can remember. Hale Collins in recent memory was a contender for The Northeast Wrestling World Championship but failed both times against Darby Allin. Now, he’s in a match with Chris Battle. Someone who never got that world title opportunity.

Always in the shadow of his older battle Anton Battle, who is currently injured. Northeast Wrestling’s major focus right now is major contenders for the belt, as I could say three of these matches could highly impact the World Title scene of NEW. Maybe Chris Battle could bring in a major win, after a loss from what is possibly the #1 Contenders Match for this show. Both dudes can give the crowd a good match, and we’re hoping for it.

JT Dunn vs. “Cold Steel” Chuck O’Neil

Photo: NEW

Whenever it comes to guys who have been at the forefront of the Independent Scene on the east coast, you often think of JT Dunn. JT Dunn has been to almost every NEW event this year and has gone from a mid-carder to champion for the promotion. But that all changed one fateful night in September when he lost the world title to Darby Allin and at Prison Break, JT Dunn turned against the fans when Rey Fenix wouldn’t show up for a match against him. Flipping off the fans and just being a bad guy, while still being a brutal striker. Becoming more dirtier than ever before.

Defeating Rey Fenix in a different show and making his statement that he wants the NEW World Championship once again and he wants to shut up another individual. A former MMA Fighter, Chuck O’Neil who has made sporadic appearances in Northeast Wrestling before but only being known as a guy who can easily knock out a dude. But there’s no doubt in our mind that this will be a fight, but will Chuck O’Neil pick up a major upset? Or will JT Dunn pick up another victory on his road to get back his world championship? This is part one of what we believe in the Number 1 Contenders Match.

Christian Casanova vs. “Rarebreed” Keith Youngblood

Photo: NEW

This is part two of what we were talking about in the previous match. Keith Youngblood in the previous event “How You Doin” made a clear statement to the world champion, Darby Allin. That it’s Youngblood’s Time. But with someone who feels like he’s been screwed out of multiple opportunities for the world title, Christian Casanova doesn’t see it that way. Christian Casanova has made his name recently in Beyond Wrestling and other areas of the East Coast Indy Scene and has gotten so close to that one title that he was waiting for, a man that oozes charisma, cockiness, wrestling ability and someone who believes he’s the best there is in the company wants to shut up a man who is on his way to become NEW World Champion.

Keith Youngblood, a former tag team partner of Daniel Evans and a NEW renowned Tag Team Competitor has held tag gold with his partner Daniel, once Daniel Evans turned on by him… Keith got Jerry Lawler and won the Tag Titles with him while being in the good graces of Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. Since then, Keith Youngblood has had multiple high profile mid-card matches, against the likes of Chris Battle, current number #1 contender Brian Anthony, Mike Verna and many more. I have a feeling that this match could be the major factor towards November 30th’s show. So, will Casanova go for the world title that has eluded him his entire career? Or will it go full circle for Keith Youngblood and possibly become number #1 Contender for NEW’s World Title?

Sledge vs. Wrecking Ball Legursky

Photo: NEW

Wrecking Ball Legursky… there is a lot to say about the NEW Career of this man, a giant man who has had managers left and right for years and has been the world champion two times in the company while winning it under dubious circumstances. Since then, he has tag-teamed with Bubba Ray Dudley and is almost always involved in every David Arquette appearance that NEW does. For months, the major story involving Wrecking Ball was his feud with Jared Silverkliet. A man who betrayed Wrecking Ball to form a new faction known as The Trust Fund with Thrilllride and legend of Northeast Wrestling Ron Zombie. Out of all of the bouts for this feud, there has still not been one major match between Zombie & Wrecking Ball, which is odd…

But do you know what’s odder? His opponent for this show, Sledge is another new name under Northeast Wrestling’s banner but has experience in the West Coast, although bringing in some new talent for Northeast Wrestling is a good idea. Especially with how the crowd loves slug-fests with Wrecking Ball being the most over giants of the company. Unlike the previous two matches, there doesn’t seem to be an ambition for Wrecking Ball to go back for the World Title, so maybe this could elevate to that or possibly be another involvement with the Trust Fund. Who knows? But we’re excited about this.

NEW Tag Team Championship: Inzanely Rude (Zane Bernardo & RJ Rude) (c) vs. The Trust Fund (Thrillride & Ron Zombie) w/ Jared Silnerkleit

Photo: NEW

When Inzanely Rude came into Northeast Wrestling, they were majorly over because of there theme song which was The Drake and Josh Theme Song and they became loveable personalities for the promotion as well. For how the tag scene that has been very chaotic over the years with other teams being overshadowed with the tag title making sporadic appearances when Keith Youngblood & Jerry Lawler won the titles, the tag scene is NEW has had well-established tag teams, but the major focus was always The Royal Court vs Keith Youngblood. Now that the tag titles are back into full-time tag teams, I can definitely say that the Trust Fund has been patiently waiting for their title match by annoying Wrecking Ball Legursky for the past year, Inzanely Rude who’s into their first reign as champion defends against the Trust Fund in their second title defense.

There’s not much to say here however, the depth of story for this match isn’t that much, both guys had pent up aggression and jealousy for how they never got that piece of gold. Inzanely Rude first defense was with good competition, with Maine Street Posse and AEW Tag Team Private Party and they have beaten AEW Tag Team Jungle Boy and Luchasarus, so the experience in there. But a manager can easily screw up a finish, this match might be no exception to that rule, so will Inzanely Rude retain their titles or will the Trust Fund finally hold the Tag Titles for the first time in their career.

Just a friendly warning, when watching this match… don’t have headphones or loudspeakers on, because Jared Silverkliet has one of the most ear-piercing voices in all of Wrestling.

NEW World Championship: Darby Allin (c) vs. King Brian Anthony w/ Baron Von Vito banned from Ringside

Photo: NEW

The Main Event of the evening is for The Northeast Wrestling World Championship with Darby Allin defending his championship against The Ace of Northeast Wrestling, King Brian Antony and the story of this match has routes to the previous show. In “How You Doin” both of these men faced off in a brutal encounter for the title, but the match ended via DQ after interference from Baron Von Vito, after the DQ finish. King Brian Anthony and Vito destroyed Darby Allin, hitting him with multiple chair shots and still wanting his world title back after haven’t held it in over four years. He’s considered The Ace by many as he had a world title reign that lasted over 1000+ Days and going for his fourth championship reign with the belt.

Darby Allin, on the other hand, won the title out of the blue in a show after he faced off against Jon Moxley. Defeating JT Dunn for the world title. Now, Brian Anthony calls it “his right” to own the world title once again, but with a stipulation being his manager Baron Von Vito not being banned ringside for the match. NEW usually doesn’t have the world title in the main event (Yeah, I know it’s odd). But this match should be incredible, with very little interference possible, I totally expect this to be a barn burner of a match, these two had good chemistry before, looking forward to what should be a bout that could change the future of Northeast Wrestling with their Evil King once again holding the world title… or could Darby Allin retain his title and continue the championship reign. I guess we all find out at Autumn Ambush!
