MLW Signs Zeda Zhang To Multi-Year Deal

In the past few weeks, Major League Wrestling (MLW) has promoted the impending debut of the MLW Women’s Division. Since its reboot in late 2017, while they briefly had women’s matches, MLW seemed to drop women’s wrestling all together in the past year or so. But all of that is about to change, as MLW announced the first signing for the division, in former NXT Superstar Zeda Zhang.

A former amateur MMA fighter, Julie Ho joined NXT in 2017, working to become a pro wrestler. She appeared in the inaugural Mae Young Classic, where she was knocked out of the first round by Shayne Baszler.

Her run with NXT was shortlived and she left WWE in early 2018. Instead of retiring from a sport she hardly spent much time in, she was determined to get herself better, hitting the independent scene. Over the past year, she worked with I Believe In Wrestling in Florida as well as Queens of Combat, PCW ULTRA, and others. She also spent time in China training under CIMA, where she’s competed with Middle Kingdom Wrestling (MKW) and Singapore Pro Wrestling (SPW). She’s also competed in Mexico with The Crash Lucha.
