At the historic AAA: Invading N.Y. Taya defeated Tessa Blanchard in what was a very aggressive match for the Reina De Reinas match. The match was decided when Taya was able to hit Tessa with a devasting knee to the face, followed by her finished. Taya has continued to dominate the championship title scene as she now holds both the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts title and the AAA Lucha Libre Reina De Reinas title.
After the match, Taya tried attempted to get a handshake from Tessa and while the two did shake hands, Tessa evetually attached Taya when her back was turned to Tessa. Blanchard disrespectfully went and gave the crowd some nasty sign language before she left the ring. It seems the two still have some unfinished business as both women compete for both IMPACT Wrestling and AAA Lucha Libre.
This is officially Taya’s third stint with the Reina De Reinas title as she previously won it and held it for close to 1000 days and then with another 70 days. Taya just defended her IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts title last night at the Victory Road special on IMPACT+ when she defeated Rosemary to retain.
Valkyrie now has to look forward to IMPACT Wrestling: Bound For Glory on October 20th and AAA Lucha Libre: Heroes Imortales which airs on which airs one night before that. If Taya could possibly be defending both her title on back to back nights, with one title defense taking place in Mexico and the next title defense taking place the next night in the states. While she certainly has her hands full, Taya can easily be considered one of the most dominant champions in all of pro wrestling today.
