Written In The Stars: The Granite City Hotshots To Reunite In WrestleZone

It’s a great day for the wrestling fanbase up in Aberdeen, Scotland as it was announced that Bryan Tucker and Shawn Johnson, collectively known as The Granite City Hotshots, will be reuniting at the WrestleZone (WZ) Battle of the Nations event to take on old rivals The Thunder Buddies (Blue Thunder and William Sterling). That show takes place on Saturday, August 17th at the Northern Hotel in Aberdeen – a venue steeped in WrestleZone history.

Tucker and Johnson were a mainstay in the WrestleZone tag team division from 2012 onwards, although they had teamed once or twice prior. In their three years as a team, they would capture the WrestleZone Tag Team Championships on four occasions, with one of those title victories coming at Aberdeen Anarchy 2014 when they defeated The Thunder Buddies in WZ’s first-ever Ladder Match. They could continue teaming until Shawn turned his back on Bryan at Christmas Chaos (Comes Early!) in November 2015 in favor of joining the villainous Sterling Oil faction alongside Richard R. Russell, Damien, and The Sterling Brothers (Alan Sterling and William Sterling), later joined by Crusher Craib.

After an incredible rivalry between the pair throughout 2016, Shawn would find huge success at the top of WrestleZone, winning the 2017 Regal Rumble Match and later the Undisputed Championship, a title he would hold twice in his career at the time of writing. Meanwhile, Bryan would become a contender in the Tri-Counties Championship division, advancing to the finals of the original championship tournament alongside Zach Dynamite, Bingo Ballance, and eventual winner Aspen Faith in June 2017. Alongside Scotty Swift, Johnny Lions, and Chris McDonald, he would be responsible for the dissolution of Sterling Oil at Aberdeen Anarchy X last September, but he hasn’t really been seen since, wrestling just once more after that.

Now that they’re reunited, the WrestleZone tag team division has been put on notice! Also confirmed for Battle of the Nations is Scotty Swift and Johnny Lions defending their WrestleZone Tag Team Championships against number one contenders The Outfit (Dino Del Monte and Ted O’Keefe) in what may be Johnny’s final match in a WrestleZone ring.
