In somewhat shocking but exciting news, it has been announced that a huge main event will occur on 205 Live this week. It will be NXT vs 205 Live as the Cruiserweight Champion, Drew Gulak, is set to face NXT’s newest star, Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, in the main event.
There should be and will be excitement in the air for 205 Live this Tuesday when Gulak takes on a new challenger in Scott, who impressed the Full Sail Crowd just three weeks ago on NXT TV when he took part in the NXT Breakout Tournament against Cameron Grimes. While he suffered a loss, “Swerve” proved to be possibly the most talented addition to the NXT roster and showed his promise.
This will be the second time these two ever go one on one. It was five years ago where Drew Gulak and “Swerve”, then as Shane Strickland, faced off in an epic battle in House of Glory. The first time around saw the current Cruiserweight Champion come out with the victory. Can “Swerve” even the score?
What may be even more exciting is the mixing of NXT talent into 205 Live, as for months now 205 Live talent like Gulak have traveled to NXT to take on the black and yellow brands best. Fans must have been demanding “Swerve” on their television screens following his first NXT match as his second comes in 205 Live.
205 Live has been on fire for the past year with great in-ring competition and that will only continue in the main event this coming week. It was just this past week where Chad Gable and Jack Gallagher got the fans to their feet in their instant classic on the show. Now, the grounded Gulak and incredible “Swerve” have a chance to try and top them.
It’s already an exciting week ahead for WWE programming with this main event. The contract signing between Mike Kanellis and Drake Maverick is also scheduled to take place.
205 Live is officially a can’t miss show!
