TNT Extreme Wrestling returns for yet another exciting event sure to provide extremely good wrestling. The Liverpool based hardcore promotion has been blowing up as of late and has managed to attract (as well as produce) a whole bunch of great and recognizable indie performers. Pete Dunne, WALTER, Tessa Blanchard and more are all TNT alumni. So, what does TNT’s Supreme Extreme 2019 have to offer us? Let’s take a look.
She-Wolves Address the Audience
Kasey Owens, Molly Spartan, and Rhio make up the She-Wolves stable. The young, incredibly talented British trio (hailing from Northern Ireland, Scotland and England respectively) have been something of a force in TNT as-of-late, most recently scoring a big victory over the team of Session Moth, Lizzy Styles, and former TNT Women’s Champion Lana Austin. So what will they be announcing at Supreme Extreme? New championships? New opponents? We will have to wait and see!
World Tag Wars Tournament Semi-Final: New Sick Boys vs The Purge
The World Tag Wars Tag Tournament has been a long, grueling tournament put together to crown the inaugural TNT Extreme Wrestling Tag Team Champions. We are finally into the semi-finals – and with two guaranteed tag team treats. New Sick Boys, consisting of Defiant Wrestling‘s Defiant Champion, Rory Coyle and NXT UK performer, Jamie “Screwface” Ahmed, are a pair of hardcore brawlers who – quite simply – are not to be messed with. They are a tag team hell-bent on bringing the TNT Extreme Wrestling tag titles home. Standing in their way is the team of ICW‘s “The Outlaw” Stevie James and fellow ICW performer, Krobar, who make up the team of The Purge – the current PWE Tag Team Champions. “World Tag Wars” is a fitting name because it is a guarantee that this match will be a war.
World Tag Wars Tournament Semi-Final: Kings of the North vs MancUnion
The other World Tag Wars Tournament semi-final match taking place at Supreme Extreme 2019 is the matchup between Bonesaw & Damien Corvin‘s Kings of the North and Ashton Smith & Sam Bailey‘s MancUnion. The MancUnion is certain to be greeted by a hostile Liverpool crowd who do not take kindly to those wearing Manchester United shirts – and the MancUnion are sure to retaliate with insults towards Liverpool and Everton Football Club. Like the other semi-final, this will be a war; a war in which only one of these two talented sides can scrape through to put themselves in with a chance of being the first ever TNT Extreme Tag Team Champions.
Rey Fénix vs El Phantasmo
A match of two household independent wrestling names. Rey Fénix comes into this match as the current AAA World Heavyweight Champion, one half of the current Impact World Tag Team Champions and WAR World Tag Team Champions (with his brother, Pentagón Jr./Penta el 0M) and the current PDM Light Heavyweight Champion. He is also a former Lucha Underground Champion (as well as 2x holder of the Gift of the Gods), MLW World Tag Team Champion and so on. Basically, he’s pretty good. Whereas El Phantasmo hasn’t had quite the championship success Fenix has had (though he is a former 3x ECCW Champion and 1x ECCW Tag Team Champion with Amazing Halo), he is still a highly talented independent star guaranteed to have a great match with an opponent as great as Fenix. Phantasmo is a new addition to the BULLET Club and will be a so a big win against a star of Fenix’s quality could provide him with the momentum he needs to go far in Japan. This is an exciting matchup sure to bring enjoyment to the fans in attendance; credit must go to TNT Extreme’s booker for putting it together.
TNT Extreme Division #1 Contendership Match: Jimmy Havoc vs Jack Jester vs Drew Parker vs Mikey Whiplash
Yet another exciting matchup put together by the Liverpool based promotion. Jimmy Havoc – like many others on this card – is a household indie name who has worked all over the world. The Kent-born hardcore specialist has recently been signed to All Elite Wrestling and will be looking to score a big win in Liverpool before what could potentially be a permanent move to the United States. Glaswegian powerhouse, Jack Jester, will also be looking for a big win. The former ICW Heavyweight Champion (as well as current HOPE and RNW Highland Champion) and Brit Wres veteran will want to add the TNT World Championship to his growing list of accomplishments. Drew Parker, at 21 years of age, is the youngest man entering this fatal-four-way match. The Urchin Prince from Connah’s Quay, Wales, is still a seasoned competitor, who has won numerous championships, such as the HOPE 24/7 Hardcore Championship (12x) and the ATTACK! 24:7 Championship. Winning this match and going on to claim the TNT Extreme Championship would be huge for the young Welshman before he heads off to Big Japan Wrestling. Lastly, we have Mikey Whiplash. The technician from Stoke is a former ICW Heavyweight Champion and current World Mid-Heavyweight Champion (10 years and counting) and will see this as an opportunity to not only claim contendership for the TNT Extreme Championship but to also prove he is the best competitor in this match. This fatal-four-way match boasts four different wrestling styles from four of British wrestling’s top names from four different areas of the UK. It is hard to not look forward to this match. It will be a perfect demonstration in wrestling mayhem, much like TNT Extreme Wrestling.
TNT World Championship Match: Mark Haskins (c) vs Rampage Brown
The powerhouse from Leeds vs the technician from Oxford. Quite fitting, actually. Oxford’s Mark Haskins will be looking to make a successful defense of his TNT World Championship against a certified Brit Wres star in Rampage Brown. Haskins has a ridiculous amount of championship wins to his name; from being PROGRESS World Champion to being a former 3-time IPW: UK World Champion, to name just two. The TNT World Championship will be one he is desperate to keep and he is going to be in for a hardcore brawl against Brown. Brown, too, boasts numerous championships in his display case, having been ASW Heavyweight Champion (3x); the current 3CW Champion and, like Haskins, a PROGRESS World Champion. Rampage Brown also has arguably the best piledriver in the business in his arsenal and – if connected – could prove devastating to Haskins’ chances of walking out as champion – if either one of these two men walks out at all.
PAC vs Pentagón Jr.
This is a match that writes itself; the only match that could main event over the promotion’s world title. We all know PAC (FKA Neville) as a former NXT Champion; a former 2-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion and the current Open the Dream Gate Champion. He is possibly the greatest living cruiserweight. Since leaving WWE last year, he has gone on to become arguably the hottest name in independent wrestling. Another elite level wrestler who can claim to be the hottest name in independent wrestling – as well as arguably the greatest living cruiserweight – is Pentagón Jr. Pentagón also boasts being one-half of potentially the most in-demand tag team today, too, with his brother Rey Fenix as the Lucha Brothers. He is a former Impact World Champion, a former 2-time Lucha Underground Champion and one half of the current Impact and WAR World Tag Team Champions with Fenix. PAC and Pentagón are unique in their ability to mix traditional brawling with flashy, high-flying moves. Both also have the ability to get extreme, when required, and will surely have to rely on that ability when they face each other at TNT Extreme Wrestling. These two performers are so similar and yet so different and that’s just another reason this match is must-see wrestling. 5-star match? We will find out on Thursday!
TNT Extreme Wrestling’s Extreme Supreme 2019 is going to be a night of hardcore brutality. If you are able to get down to Liverpool this Thursday (18 April), then make sure you do so. Fusion Liverpool opens its doors for Extreme Supreme at 6 pm for VIP and 7 pm for general attendees.
