Alexa Bliss To Return To Action, Will Compete in Royal Rumble

It’s been a long time coming, but despite rumors of her injury possibly ending her career like it did fellow WWE Superstar Paige, Alexa Bliss announced tonight on Monday Night Raw that she would be returning to action this Sunday and officially announced her entrance into the Women’s Royal Rumble match in Phoenix, Arizona.

Alexa Bliss has been out of action since October 20, 2018, when she was injured during a Live Event in Hartford, Connecticut and has been out since nursing concussion issues. While she continued to appear on screen, initially acting as a ringside manager for her two minions, Mickie James and Alicia Fox, she debuted a new talk show, A Moment of Bliss, a few weeks back, which only fuelled rumors of her impending retirement from the ring. Moments after her announcement, former NXT Superstar Lacey Evans appeared and announced she would also be entering the Rumble (and winning it).

Following previous announcements on Raw and SmackDown Live and the partial reveal on Social Media on Sunday, the updated announced participants stands at 23 entrants.

  1. Natalya
  2. Bayley
  3. Ember Moon
  4. Ruby Riott
  5. Sarah Logan
  6. Liv Morgan
  7. Mickie James
  8. Alicia Fox
  9. Mandy Rose
  10. Sonya Deville
  11. Zelina Vega
  12. Carmella
  13. Charlotte Flair
  14. Naomi
  15. Tamina
  16. Peyton Royce
  17. Billie Kay
  18. Dana Brooke
  19. Lana
  20. Nia Jax
  21. Nikki Cross
  22. Alexa Bliss
  23. Lacey Evans

With 23 “main roster” entrants, it eclipses last year’s Women’s Royal Rumble, which only featured 18 talents from Raw and SmackDown Live, plus 9 legends (Trish Stratus, Lita, Molly Holly, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly, Vickie Guerrero, Beth Phoenix, Jacqueline, and Torrie Wilson), one return (Brie Bella) and two NXT Superstars (Kairi Sane and Ember Moon). The current announced field leaves seven slots open for potential NXT and NXT UK participants and maybe a few Legends to round out the 30 spots.
