At tonight’s NXT UK tapings in Liverpool, England, Triple H announced that on January 12, 2019, NXT UK will hold it’s first NXT UK TakeOver, which will air live on the WWE Network. The first NXT UK TakeOver will emanate from The Empress Ballroom in Blackpool, England, the home of the very first WWE United Kingdom Championship tournament.

NXT UK Takeover Announced For January 2019
NXT UK has been playing catch up on the WWE Network since it debuted in October, airing two new episodes back to back on Wednesday’s starting at 3:00 pm EST (or 8:00 pm GMT). As seen last week, the tournament for the NXT UK Women’s Championship is entering the finals, as Rhea Ripley will face off against Mae Young Classic winner Toni Storm. With a rumoured tournament to start up for the NXT UK Tag Team Championships, it’s possible that NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool could see the finals of that to crown the first NXT UK tag champs.
