In bigger news, DDT announced that it was joining the WWN Live Experience that takes place over WrestleMania weekend., It joins promotions such as EVOLVE, Shine, SHIMMER, Westside Xtreme Wrestling, Viva La Lucha and Kaiju Big Battel. They will be represented at the WWN Supershow and run a show of their own between the 4th and 6th of April in 2019. DDT is most known as the quirkiest wrestling promotion on earth. It is home to the true best bout machine, the blow-up doll Yoshihiko, once a year they host a Campsite event where wrestlers compete on a camping ground to win a falls count anywhere match, a match which can go for an hour. They made Minoru Suzuki a weapon in a match and are infamous for having the Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship which has been won by a table, children, an invisible man and even the title itself. As well as being quirky DDT houses some great wrestlers like Speedball Mike bailey, current ace Konosuke Takeshita and his big rival Tesuya Endo. DDT follow the precedent of New Japan who have branched into the English speaking market to increase their international brand recognition and grow its potential fanbase. DDT will be looking to follow them up and earn international buzz to solidify its spot as Japans number 2 promotion.

In other puroresu news, Sendai Girls, one of the big Joshi companies alongside Stardom, WAVE and Ice Ribbon, announced the lineup for Big Show In Sendai Sun Plaza on the 14th of October and it includes two names familiar to British wrestling fans. Millie McKenzie and Rhia O’Reilly were announced for the show. McKenzie is the next big thing in women’s wrestling as she is already booked by every company in the UK at age 18. On top of that, she takes her opponents to suplex city and an appearance in Japan will be a big learning curve for the youngster. Rhia O’Reilly is on the opposite end of the career spectrum, as she is a 10 year veteran and has been fighting to help establish women’s wrestling in the UK and Ireland for years. O’Reilly has appeared for promotions all over the Uk including PROGRESS, IPW Revolution Pro Wrestling, ICW and EVE where she is a cult hero and has even made it to Shine in the US. O’Reilly deserves a run in Japan more than almost any other woman in the UK and Ireland and with her experience will look to make the most of this huge opportunity.
