We are two months away from the WWE’s first ever all-women’s pay per view, WWE Evolution, airing October 28, 2018 from Long Island, New York. An in-house ad for the event aired to those in attendance at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn during the pre-show panel of NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV, and during that ad, a match was revealed to the live audience.

While many were upset that WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus wasn’t announced facing someone like Sasha Banks or Charlotte Flair, keeping Trish away from WWE’s Four Horsewomen in a singles match could add credence to reports of a Four Horsewomen feud occurring at WWE Evolution, pitting the WWE stable – featuring Charlotte, Sasha, Bayley and Becky Lynch – against the MMA stable of Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler and recent NXT debuts, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir.
Regardless of preference, Trish Stratus facing current Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss (who is noticeably not wearing her title in the graphic) is definitely a dream match from a kayfabe standpoint. Trish is a 7x WWE Women’s Champion and one of the most beloved Superstars of the Attitude Era and beyond. She retired in 2006, after only six years in the business, but has made several special returns since. She returned for a special mixed tag match in 2008 alongside John Cena, and then a year later teamed with MVP for another mixed tag match in Toronto, Ontario. She returned in 2011 for a very short run to set up a WrestleMania 27 match up alongside John Morrison and Jersey Shore‘s Snooki against Dolph Ziggler and LayCool (Michelle McCool & Layla). She took time away from wrestling to start a family, but returned for the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble this January.
Alexa Bliss is herself a 5x WWE Women’s Champion (3x RAW, 2x Smackdown) and emerged as one of the more popular women in the women’s division right now. While not as technically gifted or athletic as some of the bigger names, Alexa’s charisma has made her one of the roster’s premier heels and a showdown between one of WWE’s most beloved faces against one of it’s current top heels is indeed a solid match-up for WWE Evolution.
