Former ESW Champion Kevin Bennett Andrade Almas’ Smackdown Opponent

On tonight’s Smackdown Live from Worcester, Massachusetts, Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas continued his winning streak by facing another indie wrestler in victory. Tonight’s opponent is Buffalo, New York’s Kevin Bennett. Bennett started wrestling in late 2011 with Bodyslam Wrestling Organization (BWO) in New Jersey, as well as working with Erie, Pennsylvania’s Pro Wrestling Rampage (PWR) and his hometown promotion with Empire State Wrestling (ESW), where he’s a former ESW Heavyweight Champion (he just lost the title on May 19 to Pepper Parks, formerly Braxton Sutter with Impact Wrestling). He remains a regular with both to this day, as well as being a top heel with Toronto’s Smash Wrestling (whom he’s worked since 2015).

Following the match, Bennett acknowledged his defeat gracefully on Twitter.

This wasn’t Bennett’s first appearance on WWE television, although it did mark his in-ring debut. He last appeared on WWE television on an episode of Monday Night Raw from Buffalo, back during the GoldbergBrock Lesnar feud. Bennett appeared as one of the security guards that made a wall between the two.

Here’s a couple recent matches of Kevin Bennett on the indie scene, one from his home at ESW against RJ City, the other a Triple Threat from Smash Wrestling featuring Bennett vs. Sebastian Suave and Jeff Cobb. Bennett can be seen regularly on Smash Wrestling on the Fight Network on Thursday nights after Impact Wrestling (or wherever Smash Wrestling streams on-demand).

Kevin Bennett is also an indie rapper in the Buffalo area, producing and recording all his own material.
