Keith Lee Defeats Kassius Ohno at WWE WrestleMania Axxess (VIDEO)

Earlier this week, the WWE announced a series of tournaments at WrestleMania Axxess, as well as interpromotional Championship matches featuring Champions from PROGRESS and EVOLVE. At tonight’s opening night for WrestleMania Axxess, WWN Champion Keith Lee (WWN is the parent company that oversees EVOLVE, SHINE, Full Impact Pro and others) defended his title against NXT Superstar Kassius Ohno.

Keith Lee Defeats Kassius Ohno at WWE WrestleMania Axxess

Keith Lee appearing in an NXT ring during WWE’s WrestleMania Axxess is a strange site, especially considering the rumors earlier this year that Keith Lee may have been offered a contract for the WWE (it hindsight, it was probably communication about appearing at Axxess for this match).

This marked the first win for Keith Lee over Kassius Ohno, who was previously 2-0 against Lee on the indies as Chris Hero. Their first matchup was in December of 2016, when they met at Beyond Wrestling Party Animals event, followed by a rematch a month later at EVOLVE 76, for Hero’s “heading to NXT” goodbye party. Hero won both encounters. Keith Lee isn’t done for the evening, as he’s heading over to EVOLVE 102 tonight to face Darby Allin in a special non-title match.
