As reported on WWE’s social media accounts, New York Knicks star and NBA Champion Jalen Brunson has accepted an invitation to appear on WWE SNME at Madison Square Garden this Saturday.
Earlier this morning, Roman Reigns released a statement on X, where he wrote, “The OTC. The King of New York @jalenbrunson1. The Mecca…MSG @TheGarden. Let’s have the whole world ACKNOWLEDGE us at @WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event! #SNME #TribalChief”
Following this, Jalen Brunson would respond to Roman’s invitation on X, where he wrote, “See you there”, and also put a finger-pointing emoji to acknowledge the Tribal Chief.
Jalen Brunson has been known to be a massive WWE fan and has even made multiple appearances with the WWE, including a notable appearance where Brunson and LA Knight would square off with Tyrese Haliburton and Logan Paul in a segment on Friday Night SmackDown.
With a Roman Reigns and Jalen Brunson segment set for Saturday Night’s Main Event, it will be interesting to see what may occur in the segment.
A Celebration of Champions at WWE SNME
It will be a segment that will certainly celebrate the accomplishments of Roman Reigns, who currently holds the World Heavyweight Championship that he won against CM Punk at WrestleMania 42, and Jalen Brunson, who won the NBA Finals last month with the New York Knicks and would also be awarded the 2026 NBA Finals MVP for his amazing performances in the entire series.
These accomplishments will also be celebrated at Madison Square Garden, the home of the New York Knicks and an arena with a rich history with the WWE.
With this segment combining the WWE and the New York Knicks, it will be one that will make many New Yorkers who are both WWE and Knicks fans very happy, and also be a segment to look forward to.
Will This Have Any Advancements to the Reigns and Rollins story?
This segment may be a celebration that has nothing to do with the other business that Reigns has at the moment, and could go without a hitch.
But it is also possible that it can advance many of the storylines that are happening, especially with Roman Reigns, who is currently feuding and set to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam in Minneapolis.
With tonight’s Raw set to have Roman Reigns responding to the comments that Seth Rollins had made last week, there could be things that could heat that story even more and cause something to happen at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Can Jalen Brunson trust Roman Reigns and The Bloodline?
There is also the chance that Jalen Brunson will need to watch his back in this segment, especially since celebrity guests have not recently had a great history with the newly revived Bloodline.
As seen a few weeks ago, Roman Reigns would embrace and welcome Eric Andre to Monday Night Raw with open arms.
However, after Roman Reigns had fully welcomed Jacob Fatu back into the family, Eric Andre would try to embrace and be friendly to Jacob Fatu.
But Jacob Fatu would take this the wrong way and grab and begin to attack Eric Andre, which caused Roman Reigns to intervene and stop Jacob Fatu from further attacking Eric Andre.
Roman Reigns would then change his mind and have Jacob Fatu hit his dangerous moonsault on Eric Andre.
With all this having happened, this is something that Jalen Brunson may need to keep in mind, and also make sure that he can have trust in The Bloodline and especially Jacob Fatu to not attack him in what is supposed to be a night of celebration in the city that Brunson had just won an NBA Championship for.
