TNA Wrestling Spoilers: Audio Continued After TNA Thursday Night iMPACT on TNA+, No Surrender Plans Revealed

Before our official TNA Wrestling Spoilers piece on Thursday and Friday taping sessions, TNA Wrestling itself involuntarily revealed some details. Viewers watching Thursday Night Impact live on TNA+ got more than they asked for. After the broadcast ended, the audio feed on TNA+ continued for approximately 15 minutes after the show went off the air. Details about plans for TNA No Surrender PLE accidentally aired.

As revealed by The Wrestling Observer,

“After Impact ended on TNA+, for about 15 minutes, the commentary for a Rich Swann v. Nic Nemeth match went out over the TNA+ video feed. There was no video, just audio. During this, it was announced that the TNA No Surrender Main Event will be Mike Santana & Leon Slater v. Nic Nemeth & Eddie Edwards. It was also revealed that Eddie Edwards was the winner of the World Title contract briefcase in the ‘Feast or Fired’ match.

Also, a storyline plot point will be that Daria Rae encourages Leon Slater to “exchange” his X Division title for a World Title shot. Rehwoldt called this “Option C,” so the storyline will be that everyone in the match is gunning for Santana. It was also revealed that Rich Swann will beat AJ Francis in the No Holds Barred main event of next week’s show. The Swann vs. Nemeth match will air the night before TNA No Surrender (2/13). TNA realized the audio was going out before the match concluded.”

What does it mean?

There were four briefcases up for grabs in the Feast or Fired match. If Eddie Edwards won the World Championship contract, that means Steve Maclin, Eric Young, and Trey Miguel won the X-Division Championship contract, or the International Championship contract, or got fired. We’ll know more about this next week.

Rich Swann vs. Nic Nemeth will air on February 12, as the No Holds Barred match between Swann and AJ Francis takes place next week. Also, Nic Nemeth faces BDE at Thursday Night iMPACT, on the same night. TNA No Surrender Main Event will be Mike Santana & Leon Slater vs. Nic Nemeth & Eddie Edwards. So, Nemeth hasn’t cashed in his Call You Shot trophy, as “everyone in the match is gunning for Santana.”

Leon Slater and Option C

The biggest news is that Leon Slater was encouraged to “exchange” his X Division title for a World Title shot. That means Slater will cash in Option C. So, he will vacate the X-Division Championship for a chance at the World Championship. If Slater said that he was targeting the TNA World Championship, Option C is something he has never talked about before.

Leon Slater’s contract comes to an end this year. WWE has already put a huge spotlight on him at WWE Saturday Night Main Event XLII, NXT New Year’s Evil, or WWE SmackDown in London, UK. Making Slater the youngest World Champion in TNA Wrestling’s history would be the exclamation point of his TNA time before Slater leaves for WWE. Tessa Blanchard, at 24, and AJ Styles, at 26, are currently the youngest World Champions in the company’s history.

Like Joe Hendry last year, Leon Slater definitely seems to be on his way to WWE. TNA No Surrender will take place on February 13 at The Pinnacle in Nashville, Tennessee. It will air live on TNA+.
