For years, Penta and Rey Fenix were known as the Lucha Brothers. They have travelled around the world, competing for various promotions. Their efforts were rewarded with many tag team championships, cementing their status as a legendary tag team. However, they’ve been apart from each other throughout their WWE tenure.
It was announced that they would reunite at AAA’s Guerra de Titanes on December 20, 2025, but an injury to Penta prevented it from happening.
He returned on the December 29 episode of Monday Night Raw, aiding Rey Mysterio from an attack by the Vision. The eventual match would be them vs. Austin Theory and Logan Paul. But with Bron Breakker potentially becoming WWE Champion, there would be nothing for Bronson Reed to do. Making the match a three-on-three fight would be the perfect way to reunite the Lucha Brothers.
Rey Fenix Would Even the Playing Field for Penta and Mysterio
Penta and Mysterio are legendary luchadors. There’s a reason why they have been revered wherever they go. But if you’re at a numbers disadvantage, things aren’t looking good.
There are four members of the Vision, and only two of them. If Breakker wins the WWE Championship from CM Punk next Monday, he’ll be preoccupied with championship hopefuls. That leaves it a three-on-two fight. This would be the perfect time to enter Fenix into the feud. He obviously is a real-life brother to Penta and has respect for Mysterio.
It makes sense that he would want to protect them from harm, as they surely would do the same. He also knows how disappointed fans were when Penta was pulled off the Guerra de Titanes card. Making it up to the fans while defending his brother and friend would be the ultimate thank you to everyone.
The Move Would Strengthen the Tag Team Division
When WWE signed Penta and Fenix, fans were excited for them to compete as a tag team. However, the company decided to split them up. It may have been confusing then, but it makes sense now.
Making them the Lucha Brothers at the start would’ve been great to see. But having them compete solo and reunite them down the line would get a huge audience reaction. When they were announced as the opponents for Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano, fans went crazy, as they knew how talented they were together.

Sadly, Penta’s injury forced their reunion to be postponed. Reforming the Lucha Brothers would give the men’s tag team division even more star power. With the Usos reclaiming the World Tag Team Championships, they need challengers. The Lucha Brothers vs. the Usos, a definite bucket list item for many fans, would finally be a reality.
Penta and Fenix’s Stock Would Rise Immensely
So far in their WWE careers, Penta and Fenix have each shown their immense talent in the ring. But, like the Usos, they work best when they are a team. WWE is waiting for the perfect moment to reunite them.
Unfortunate injury circumstances delayed their reunion last month, but Penta’s current feud is perfect timing for him to reunite with his brother. He and Mysterio are at a clear numbers disadvantage in their feud with the Vision. If they want any chance at winning, someone else needs to defend them. Fenix is the obvious choice for a multitude of reasons.
Aiding them would also add another great team to the tag team division. The Usos will need opponents, and a potential match has been discussed for years. Fenix coming to the aid of Penta and Mysterio is the best course of action for their feud with the Vision.
