WWE Survivor Series: WarGames has moved itself into a special forum. Following in the footsteps of the other big five PLEs, Survivor Series will be held inside the stadium of Petco Park. It’s an exciting change for WWE’s Thanksgiving PLE, and one that caused much anticipation within the WWE Universe, mainly because WWE has trotted out the biggest possible show to fill the over 39,000 seats inside Petco Park.
There are not many matches advertised for Survivor Series, but those that have been announced look to blow the proverbial roof off San Diego. Outside of the titular WarGames matches, we have two intriguing championship matches that have long-reaching implications for World Wrestling Entertainment.
Heading into the final Premium Live Event of the year, WWE needs to knock this out of the park, pun intended. They have given us plenty of reasons to tune in this Saturday, and some of those reasons are listed below.
C’mon, It’s WarGames
Everyone loves a good gimmick match. It’s a departure from the regular matches we’re accustomed to seeing. They are a great way to create buzz around a PLE and usually include a fantastic bump or two.
WarGames is one of those gimmick matches that demand our attention. It’s a match that consists of all of our favourite gimmicks wrapped into one. With elements of the Steel Cage, Hell in a Cell, and Royal Rumble matches being used, it’s an amalgamation of greatness. We get to see at least one great stop, the liberal use of weapons, and some iconic face-offs.
Like some things in life, the WarGames stipulation, even when it’s bad, is still pretty good. There is a reason that this match is only brought out once a year. It’s a special type of match that immediately draws the eye, like it will this Saturday.
John Cena’s Last Time At Survivor Series
December 13th is rapidly approaching. John Cena’s time in the WWE ring is nearing its conclusion, and the world is glued to the screen anytime he is on it. His retirement tour has brought the audience out in droves, and Survivor Series should be no different.
The matchup against Dominik Mysterio is the exact type of John Cena contest that we want to see. At this point in the tour, we want to see the hits of John Cena—a battle against a smug heel that allows his comedic side to come out. The fans have lapped it up for years, and the finality of these acts makes every match he has special.
This Saturday will mark the very last time that John Cena works at a WWE PLE. Since 2002, he has been strutting himself out at every WWE PLE and has been responsible for many memorable moments. Considering Survivor Series will be his last, it’s guaranteed that we are going to see something worthy of his final PLE.
Stephanie Vaquer’s First Major Championship Defense
La Primera has had a rocket strapped to her back since debuting on the main roster. She has every quality that WWE looks for in a wrestler and has been doing a great job as Women’s World Champion. There is one thing that is missing from her resume, and that’s a title defense on a major WWE show. That will be rectified at Survivor Series.
Nikki Bella might be everyone’s choice for Vaquer’s first major title defense, but she has the star power to make it work. Stephanie Vaquer has been known to have a great match against just about everyone. If anyone can stretch a passable bout out of Nikki Bella, it would be La Primera.
Stephanie Vaquer is the marquee name for WWE women’s wrestlers. She has the total support of the crowd and carries herself like a champion. Whenever she is slated to defend her World Championship, the world must take notice.
WWE’s Women Are Set To Go To War
The build towards the Women’s WarGames match hasn’t been as great as it could have been, but that doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be a massive amount of excitement surrounding it. The 10 women assembled for the match represent the pinnacle of female wrestling. Each is a massive star in her own right, making this the most star-studded WarGames match in company history.
There is so much history running around this match that it’s impossible not to get excited for WarGames. Each woman has had bad blood with someone in the contest, and we can’t wait to see what will happen once they enter the cage.
Even members of the same team, eh hem, Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley, have expressed their displeasure with one another. WWE has done a great job of cultivating the dynamic between these women, and we get to see it all implode on Saturday.
We must also mention that the human highlight machine, Iyo Sky, will be a participant. Each time she walks into WarGames, she is responsible for an outstanding spot. It’s become a prerequisite for the match, and we will see it again this Saturday.
Men’s WarGames Match For The Ages
WarGames will always draw in a crowd. People love to see the violence associated with the contest. Judging from the lineup of wrestlers that WWE has put into this match, we know that extreme violence is precisely what we are going to see.
WWE has loaded this match with the best male wrestlers from both brands. Men who have oodles of history with one another and have exploited that in the lead-up to Survivor Series. It’s not a secret that these men hate each other and will tear one another apart at Survivor Series.

Seeing Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns rekindle their storied rivalry is going to be a great moment. They may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but we can’t deny the electricity when they stand across from one another. We will also get to see some other amazing face-offs for WarGames that could have implications for the brand going forward.
With both World Champions in the match, we should have a clearer vision of what the world title scene will be heading into 2026. There are so many working parts to this match, and each will have effects long after the final bell. If one is interested in what 2026 will look like, this match could be an indicator of things to come.
