Five New Movie Releases Starring WWE Talent

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has started filming on Jumanji 3. But “The Great One” is not the only wrestler crossing over to mainstream movie stardom at the moment. Multiple WWE stars have followed The Rock to Hollywood with scores of flicks starring wrestlers set for release.

Here’s our Hollywood roundup of the five new movie releases with WWE talent on the cast list.

Jumanji 3

The Rock, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Kevin Hart joined a table read for the Jumanji 3 script this week. Rock reprises his role of Dr. Smolder Bravestone along with the stars of the previous two movies.

Jumanji 3 is set for a Christmas 2026 release. Johnson revealed his character will pay a special homage to Robin Williams’ character from the original 1995 Jumanji.

The Smashing Machine has transferred from movie theatres to home streaming. Johnson plays UFC fighter Mark Kerr in the gritty film now available on Netflix.

Zootropolis 2

“The Final Boss” has also lent his voice to Zootropolis 2. Johnson plays Zeke in the sequel as rabbit cop Judy Hopps and her fox friend, Nick Wilde, once again team up to solve crime.

WrestleMania 41 main event opponents Roman Reigns and CM Punk will tag together in Zootopolis 2 as zebra buddy cops. Zootropolis 2 hits theatres on November 26, 2025.

Street Fighter

Reigns seems set to make a big splash on the big screen. “The Original Tribal Chief” has also landed a role in the highly anticipated Street Fighter live-action movie. Reigns plays Akuma and is set to share some serious screen time with lead characters Ken and Ryu.

Cody Rhodes will also appear in Street Fighter as Guile. NJPW star Hirooki Goto plays E. Honda, marking a rare occasion on which WWE and NJPW talent have appeared in the same movie.

50 Cent, Jason Mamoa, Mel Jarnson, Callina Liang, Eric Andre and Orville Peck also appear in the movie set for an October 2026 release date.

Highlander

Dave Bautista and Drew McIntyre team up again after 2024’s The Killer’s Game. McIntyre again plays a beefy, tough-guy Scot. Certainly no type casting there.

It’s a major role for Drew who plays Angus MacLeod – the brother of the title character MacLeod portrayed by Henry Cavill. Russell Crowe, Jeremy Irons and Karen Gillan add more A-list credentials to the remake.

Bautista will play the main antagonist to Cavill’s Highlander, The Kurgan.

All this means it is probably time to give up the dream on the ultimate Hollywood showdown: The Rock vs. John Cena vs. Dave Bautista in a WWE ring.

Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo

Liv Morgan stars alongside Lily James in the thriller Lieutenant: Tokyo. Shun Oguri plays the Bad Lieutenant who teams up with James’ FBI Agent character to find a missing politician’s daughter, Morgan.

Morgan has wrapped filming with the movie in post-production.
