The rivalry between Ricky Saints and Trick Williams has reached a boiling point. At Halloween Havoc, Saints defeated Williams to retain the NXT Championship. Since then, Williams has not been happy at all. The October 28, 2025, episode of NXT began with him angrily making his way to the ring. He yelled at Saints, saying that he was the better man and that he wanted a rematch.
That led to the two of them brawling throughout the arena and the show. At the end of the night, NXT General Manager Ava put a stop to their behavior. She told them that they would be in a Last Man Standing match to settle everything. Would this be the end of their attacks, or would something else happen before they could get in the ring?
Saints and Williams Don’t Wait Until Last Man Standing Match
It’s understandable why the two men would be so angry at each other. Saints want another chance to beat Williams. Doing so would keep the NXT Championship in his hands, something that greatly pleases him. But Williams wants the title back. Not only because it’ll add to his extensive resume, but because he’ll be the second person to be NXT Champion three times after Samoa Joe.
There’s a lot on the line for both men. In preparation for their match, the November 4 episode featured an interview between them. Williams said that Saints didn’t know how to carry the brand by himself. Saints responded by saying that Williams cares about the NXT Championship rather than the brand. The two men continued to argue back and forth until Saints suggested that they fight at that moment.

Never one to back down from a challenge, Williams accepted the offer. They abruptly ended the interview and started to fight in the backstage area. The two men threw an array of punches in anger, clearly not waiting until next week. That’s when security came in to break things up. But as usual, they were no match for two extremely angry men. Williams took a steel pipe from a garbage can and hit Saints with it. Crumbling to the ground, Saints was defenseless as Williams antagonized the security guards with the steel pipe.
He took hold of the NXT Championship and promised he would get it back next week. This has been an amazing build for what is sure to be a great match. The constant fighting has really set the stage in a big way. Both men are clearly ready for the fight to happen. Next week, they get their wish as they compete in a Last Man Standing match.
