WWE Wrestlepalooza Results (9/20/25):
- WWE Wrestlepalooza is LIVE, and it begins with a main event-worthy bout between the “GOAT” John Cena and “The Beast” Brock Lesnar to usher in the ESPN Unlimited era of the WWE. Before the match began, Triple H welcomed everyone to a new era for WWE on ESPN. Lesnar was out first, as menacing as ever. Cena came out last, with Cenation kids backing the “Never Seen 17.” The “Oracle” Paul Heyman came out to introduce “The Beast” in vintage fashion, referring to him as the “Last Real Ass-kicker.” For most of the match, it was one-way traffic via Brock Lesnar, and it remained like that until the end of the bout. Cena, at some point, managed to muster up some offense, delivering three Shoulder Tackles, as well as three Attitude Adjustments. Unfortunately, Brock Lesnar would not stay down, delivering F5 after F5, six in total during the match, to put away John Cena in a massacre. Lesnar was not done, climbing back into the ring to F5 the official, and adding more injury to injury post-match, delivering a seventh F5 to Cena before walking back to the locker room.
- The Wrestlepalooza train keeps on rolling with The Vision and The Usos. Ahead of the duo’s bout, it was announced that LA Knight will be the Special Guest Referee for this collision. It was an absolute war between these two teams. The tag match was supposed to be a traditional affair. However, special guest official LA Knight was way more lenient than anyone could’ve ever thought, allowing the use of tables and even chairs. Both Usos were busted open due to the onslaught of Reed and Breakker, culminating in Bron delivering a Spear on both twins, and a Tsunami from Reed ended the affair, allowing The Vision to secure the W.
- IYO SKY and Stephanie Vaquer battle it out to determine the new WWE Women’s World Champion. As expected from two of WWE’s best, it was quite a showcase. It started slowly, with both competitors trying to feel one another out. They put the pedal to the metal soon, going tit-for-tat at every turn. Vaquer was extremely impressive, considering this was the “Dark Angel’s first shot at a World Title on the main roster, on top of taking on a seasoned veteran like IYO SKY. These women brawled and took it to the skies to try to put one another away. In the end, Vaquer would not be denied. After another miscue from IYO SKY, Stephanie would capitalize, hitting an unbelievable aerial finisher, coming away as the #AndNEW Women’s World Champion.
- For the first time in a decade, AJ Lee gets back into the ring, as she tags with her husband CM Punk, as they battle the “power couple of WWE,” World Heavyweight and Women’s Intercontinental Champion, Seth Rollins, and Becky Lynch. Punk went through the ringer for the early part of the mixed tag match, getting worked over by Rollins and Lynch, with “The Man” constantly interfering and preventing Punk from tagging in the returning AJ Lee. Punk finally got an opening, allowing AJ Lee to unleash an unbelievable flurry. Lee would hit a Reverse Spin Kick, a Cross Body, and even use Rollins as a push-off point for a Tornado DDT on Lynch. All hell broke loose after that, with all members of each couple brawling. Lee and Punk would hit stereo Running High Knee/Bulldogs, plus a Shining Wizard. Lynch and Rollins would not let them have the spotlight, fighting back, hitting Stereo Pedigrees. The action was extremely fast, with both teams trying to get the win by hitting each other with their own moves, with AJ Lee stomping Rollins’ head in before the climax of the match. It spilled on the outside, with Lee and Punk attempting to hit the Manhandle Slam and Pedigree on Lynch and Rollins. Rollins and Lync would counter, but once again, AJ and Punk would get out of it. Punk would hoist up Rollins for the GTS, and Lynch would thwart the attempt, throwing AJ Lee into Punk on the opposite announce table, causing it to collapse. Lynch would roll Lee back into the ring, looking to end it once and for all with a Manhandle Slam. AJ Lee would not let her return be spoiled, countering into the Black Widow, making Lynch submit, and exacting revenge on the couple that terrorized her husband. CM Punk and AJ Lee would celebrate in the ring after an extraordinary Mixed Tag Team Win.
- We saw The Undertaker roll into Indianapolis to the delight of the WWE Universe, delivering huge news to an unsuspecting Stephanie McMahon.
- For the main event of the evening, an irate Cody Rhodes defends his Undisputed WWE Championship against the man who put him out of commission, Drew McIntyre. To no one’s surprise, this was not a technical masterpiece, but a straight-up street fight-style encounter. McIntyre was on the offensive early, manhandling Rhodes, throwing him in and around the ring. Rhodes would turn the tables for a moment until McIntyre got the upper hand back, executing a Claymore on Rhodes. Cody would kick out. The action would spill onto the outside, with McIntyre trying to Claymore Rhodes’ head into the announcers’ table. Rhodes would get out of the way, leading to Drew injuring his leg. In the ring, Rhodes would try a Cody Cutter, only to be met with a Glasgow Kiss. McIntyre had this won, setting up for another Claymore. Unfortunately for Drew, his leg would give out, allowing Cody Rhodes to get on the offensive, hitting a Top Rope Cody Cutter, followed up by a Cross Rhodes to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship and conclude WWE Wrestlepalooza.
