Former Champions Meet In King of the Ring & Championship Match
The two men who held the Undisputed WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship as night two of WrestleMania 41 began will meet in a match to earn a shot at the Undisputed WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship.
Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso also happen to be the WWE’s two most popular stars. A bromance blossomed between the two a few years ago, leaving them practically blood brothers.
This means we will get a big four PLE-worthy main event on WWE Raw when Rhodes and Uso meet in the semifinals of the King of the Ring tournament. The ultimate prize for the King of the Ring winner is a main event championship match at WWE SummerSlam. Rhodes box office movie debut The Naked Gun hits theaters during SummerSlam weekend.
Arguably two of the biggest stars from the WWE’s female roster also meet on WWE Raw. Becky Lynch and Bayley have more history between them than the title they compete for.
This Women’s Intercontinental Championship match has been looming since Lynch took Bayley out so she could replace her at WrestleMania.
Last week’s in-ring promo was sensational at telling the story, so I’ll let you watch the video below if you want more. Our WWE Raw preview continues below.
WWE Raw Rising Stars In Action
Meanwhile, two of the rising stars in WWE meet as they search for their first title on the main roster. Jade Cargill and Roxanne Perez go head-to-head in a semifinal Queen of the Ring match that’s impossible to call.
Whilst, two rising stars in the men’s division – Penta and Bron Breakker – meet. Both men are responsible for the other not progressing any further in the King of the Ring tournament so they’ll settle the score.
Talking of rising stars, 58-year-old Goldberg will have a sit-down interview to discuss his upcoming World Heavyweight Championship match against Gunther. Goldberg might address outside criticism over him walking to the front of the line for his shot at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
