Go Inside the WWE’s Writers Room with “WWE Unreal”

Netflix yesterday issued the following:

“WrestleMania 41 may have come to a close, but WWE on Netflix is just getting started. Enter WWE Unreal, a new series coming in summer 2025. For the first time, step into the WWE writer’s room and outside the ring with your favorite WWE Superstars, where the drama is just as intense offstage as it is under the spotlight.

While full details remain under wraps, WWE Unreal is part of Netflix’s rapidly growing partnership with WWE, one that kicked off in a major way in January 2025 with Raw, streaming live on Netflix on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. Since the premiere, dozens of Superstars have stepped into the WWE Raw ring, including The Rock, John Cena, and the Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, and the Raw after WrestleMania on Monday, April 21 is set to be the biggest spectacle of the year.

Of course, Raw was just the beginning. WWE fans across the globe can find premium live events like WrestleMania and weekly shows like SmackDown and NXT on their roster. Click the link for more information on how to WWE in your country and to stay plugged in to every storyline twist, title match, and surprise return.”

This new 10-episode series promises to reveal WWE’s inner workings, granting viewers unprecedented access to the creative processes within the writer’s room and offering a behind-the-scenes look at the company, giving intimate access to the writers, producers, and Superstars who define WWE’s storytelling legacy.

For the first time, viewers will get to experience the often-mythologized and rarely seen WWE writers’ room. This creative engine crafts storylines, shapes rivalries, and balances the line between reality and fantasy each week.

According to Wikipedia, WWE has 26 writers working on its three weekly shows, PLEs, and PPVs. A dozen producers are turning the ideas into matches. WWE’s writers and producers are usually former wrestlers like Chris Abyss, Petey Williams, Tyson Kidd, Michael Hayes, Jason Jordan, Kenny Dykstra, or Shane Helms, to name a few.

While details remain under wraps about which Superstars will appear, WWE fans can expect a full cast of familiar faces — both current and legendary — as WWE Unreal unpacks everything from personal feuds to last-minute rewrites, unscripted chaos, and moments where reality hits harder than any steel chair.
