BREAKING: Jonathan Coachman To Replace Booker T on RAW Commentary Team

On a busy Monday following a hectic weekend of wrestling, the WWE announced today that former WWE and ESPN broadcaster Jonathan Coachman was returning to the WWE and would begin tonight on Raw as part of the Raw Broadcast Team. He’ll be replacing Booker T as color commentary alongside Michael Cole and Corey Graves. Booker will still appear for the WWE as a guest panelist for Pay Per View Kickoff Shows.

“Coach” began working with the WWE in 1999 as a backstage interviewer and worked with the WWE through the Attitude Era and into the Ruthless Aggression Era, where he was often a foil to such stars as The Rock, while maintaining positions from back stage interviews to commentator on broadcasts for Raw and Smackdown, to even interim General Manager. He left the WWE in 2008 to pursue other interests when his contract expired that year.

Soon after leaving the WWE, he began to work for ESPN, working his way up the ladder, and holding a position with the company until his departure this past October when his contract expired with ESPN expired.
