  • In the main event, Jacob Fatu outlasted Braun Strowman in their Last Standing Match and will challenge LA Knight for the United States Championship at WrestleMania 41.

Now that you’re all caught up, we provide you with an in-depth WWE SmackDown analysis for April 4th, 2025, and how this will shape the WWE landscape heading into WrestleMania 41.

CM Punk Pulls An Ace From His Sleeve

CM Punk finally informed the WWE Universe of the favor that Paul Heyman owes him. At WrestleMania 41, Paul Heyman will be in the corner of Punk instead of his “Tribal Chief,” Roman Reigns. It’s no secret that CM Punk and Paul Heyman have a long history together. When Punk had his over year-long reign as WWE Champion, he had Paul Heyman by his side.

The same goes for Roman Reigns, who held WWE’s top prize for over 1,000 days. Both men relied heavily on Paul Heyman, as he guided them towards immortality. Unfortunately, for the first time in almost five years, Reigns will not have his “Wise Man” by his side.

It’s an absolute game-changer for CM Punk to have Heyman in his corner. The former ECW head honcho has all the knowledge that could lead to a victory for Punk at ‘Mania. Simultaneously, how will Roman Reigns, and even Seth Rollins for that matter, fare against a Punk who has the high of main-eventing his first WrestleMania, as well as one of, if not the, best minds in professional wrestling?

Fenix Flies High

Rey Fenix has finally arrived at WWE. For his inaugural opponent, NXT’s own Nathan Frazer stepped up to the plate. As expected, these two put on quite a show. Move for move, risk after risk, Fenix and Frazer showed out Friday night. With a Michinoku Driver, Rey Fenix notches his first win in his debut match.

Next week, there’s no rest for the wicked as Rey Fenix takes on another fantastic Luchador in the form of Berto. WWE has rolled out the red carpet for Rey Fenix. On the following SmackDown, Berto and Fenix are poised to have a high-flying affair that will delight the WWE fans.

The promotion has landed two supreme Luchadores this year, and it will be no surprise if they end up putting Rey Fenix against some of the best the company has to offer as we head for WrestleMania 41. If Fenix goes on a roll in the next few weeks, he might soon be competing for a title.

Whether that’s for the U.S., Intercontinental, or even one of the tag team titles with his brother Penta, Rey Fenix will fly high in WWE.

That’s all for the WWE SmackDown results analysis. What did you think of the show?
