WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Returns With John Cena

Saturday Night’s Main Event will return to NBC in May with John Cena promised to appear. The latest edition of the nostalgic SNME will be part of WWE’s Memorial Day weekend Tampa takeover.

NXT Battleground will follow on Sunday 25th May. WWE Raw and NXT will complete the takeover on May 26 and 27.

All four events will take place at the home of the 1995 Royal Rumble the Yuengling Center. The four-day of events coincides with AEW’s biggest PPV of the year Double or Nothing.

AEW Double or Nothing takes place at the Desert Diamond Arena on May 25. This means the PPV will run at the same time as NXT Battleground.

WrestleMania 41 Fallout

John Cena could be heading into his first appearance in Tampa in three years with the WWE’s top prize around his waist. Saturday Night’s Main Event will be the first special event after WrestleMania 41. The now-evil Cena will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas in April.

If “The Final Boss” The Rock’s plan to have a champion he can be proud of comes to fruition, Cena will be in his record-breaking 17th world title reign during the Tampa takeover. Three and four-day combo ticket packages will be available Friday, March 14 via Ticketmaster.com.

An exclusive pre-sale opportunity will be available from Wednesday, March 12.

NXT Battleground

The entire landscape of NXT could also be different come Memorial Day weekend. WWE NXT Roadblock this Tuesday (March 11) from Madison Square Garden kicks off a busy period for the brand. NXT Stand & Deliver will follow the morning of WrestleMania 41 (April 19).

NXT championships are certain to change hands during this massive morning show. Potential post-WrestleMania main roster call-ups and rumored new signings add to the changing landscape of NXT.
