Sports. Honestly. Since 2011

A WWE SmackDown preview banner for January 17th, 2025 featuring WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton and Bayley.

Preview: WWE SmackDown (1/17/25) – Tiffany Stratton’s First WWE Women’s Title Defense

San Diego, California, will be rocking as WWE SmackDown comes to town. On this night, we get the return of a disgraced warrior. Two of the best tag teams on Friday night fight night’s roster. Plus, the inaugural defense of the new WWE Women’s Champion and a ton more! Sit back, relax, and take it all in as we bring you a full preview of the January 17th, 2025 edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown.

With all that out of the way, let’s take a look at the action for this week’s installment of SmackDown. Let’s run it down.

Card for WWE SmackDown – 11/17/25:

  • Motor City Machine Guns vs. Los Garza
  • WWE Women’s Championship Match: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Bayley
  • Solo Sikoa Returns

First Up

Bayley went through hell and back to secure her number-one contender status on last week’s SmackDown. Outlasting three other women, the former Damage CTRL leader is now one step closer to reclaiming the WWE Women’s Championship. However, it won’t be that easy.

Tiffany Stratton waited for months to cash in Money in the Bank, and just two weeks ago, she finally saw her moment and capitalized as he became the WWE Women’s Champion. It’s for damn sure that Stratton won’t let “Tiffy Time” end so prematurely.

That said, Bayley has a ton of experience on her side, being a Grand Slam Champion, and she will definitely reach into her over a decade of knowledge to pull this one out.

Will Bayley become the WWE Women’s Champion? Or Will Tiffany Stratton notch her first successful title defense?

Flying Solo

Solo Sikoa was convinced that after this match with Roman Reigns on the first WWE Raw on Netflix was over, he would be the one wearing the Uala Fala. Unfortunately, it did not turn out that way. Sikoa fought and did whatever it took to become the undisputed Tribal Chief, to no avail.

With Roman Reigns setting his sights on the Undisputed WWE Championship, with Paul Heyman declaring the OTC’s entry into the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble Match, what is next for Solo Sikoa?

Well, the WWE Universe will find out as the former self-christened Tribal Chief will be making his return on this Friday night’s WWE SmackDown. What does this disgraced warrior have to say to the WWE Universe?

Let’s all find out this Friday night only on WWE SmackDown, which you can watch live on the USA Network!
