This week, a new NXT Women’s Champion was crowned at WWE NXT New Year’s Evil as Giulia defeated Roxanne Perez. Giulia has had a strong run in NXT since she debuted, and it will be exciting to see what she brings as champion. But what does this mean for Roxanne Perez?
Perez made her NXT debut in 2022, and ever since she won the NXT Breakout Star Tournament that year, she has been one of the fan favorites. Perez has been one of the top women in the locker room, winning the NXT Women’s Championship twice and being in extensive main event matches.
The fans know how to spot a star and found that in Roxanne Perez. She can cut promos, engage the audience as a heel or face, and follow up with impressive matches. Perez shows the qualities needed to become the next star on the WWE main roster. Is that her next stop now that she has lost the title?
Roxanne Perez has accomplished a lot at NXT, and this would be a perfect time to finish up her time there.
Royal Rumble
With the Royal Rumble around the corner, Perez has a few weeks to wrap up her time in NXT and possibly make her appearance at the Royal Rumble. In 2023, Perez was entrant 27 in the women’s Royal Rumble match but was eliminated by Tiffany Stratton.
Her appearance in the 2023 Royal Rumble match was just for the night as she returned to NXT. If she appears in this year’s women’s Royal Rumble match, she should remain on the main roster and make her official debut on the following Raw or Smackdown.
It is debatable whether she will stay on the main roster at that time, but her official call-up and appearance in the Royal Rumble match are likely to come soon.
Nearly everyone who has stepped foot in NXT has improved, whether they have continued to succeed in the company. There is no doubt that these wrestlers learn a lot, as legends in the business teach them. Perez is one that we think and hope will be very successful in the company’s future based on this experience in NXT.
Possible Opponents for Roxanne Perez
While it has been sad to see Perez’s reign as NXT Women’s Champion come to an end, hopefully, that means she is starting her next chapter on the main roster. Her debut on the main roster would bring many new rivalries and opportunities.
Now that they have evolved into their characters and continued to improve, Tiffany Stratton would be a great opponent for Perez. They haven’t faced each other since Stratton joined NXT, and with their evolution, a feud between them would be like seeing it for the first time.
After having some matches on the main roster, Perez would be a perfect contender for the Women’s United States Championship. As of right now, that would mean that her opponent would be Chelsea Green.
No matter who Green competes against, fans love to see it. A feud between them would be nothing less than entertaining.
Rhea Ripley would be a new opponent, giving Perez one intense fight. They are very different character-wise and in-ring style. Regarding body stature, Perez is 5’1″compared to Ripley’s 5’7″ with clashing wrestling styles.
Their differences will create an interesting feud and potentially a fantastic match, as Perez must work around Ripley’s brutality.
Roxanne Perez already has plenty of accomplishments in the company, but she is only getting started. Although she feels she has done everything she can in NXT, it is time for her next chapter on the main roster.
