#AndNEW: Lucha Brothers Win Reach for the Sky Ladder Match

Ring of Honor has new ROH World Tag Team Champions. The Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fénix) defeated the Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fénix), Top Flight (Dante Martin and Darius Martin), The Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett), Aussie Open (Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher), and La Facción Ingobernable (Rush and Dralístico) at Supercard of Honor to become champions.

The Lucha Brothers Win Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championships

The previous designs of the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championships have been retired. The final holders were Mark and Jay Briscoe, the Briscoe Brothers. They defeated FTR at Final Battle to win the titles. Unfortunately, Jay Briscoe was killed in a car accident in January. The name of the ladder match “Reach for the Sky” is a tribute to Jay Briscoe and the signature beginning to the entrance music used by the brothers.

Mark Briscoe has since pivoted into singles competition and will challenge Samoa Joe for the ROH World Television Championship, a title that he has claimed is his destiny to win.

For The Lucha Brothers, it is their first reign as ROH Tag Team Champion. They are also former AEW, IMPACT, PWG, and AAA, tag title holders.

After the match, FTR and Mark Briscoe appeared to greet the brothers and congratulate them as well as pay tribute to Jay Briscoe.
