Colt Cabana made his AEW return tonight in Baltimore. He answered the open challenge laid out by current Ring of Honor World Champion Chris Jericho.
Colt Cabana Returns to AEW
Chris Jericho laid out an open challenge to any past Ring of Honor Champion. The call could be answered by any past ROH World, Television, Tag, or Pure Champion. Cabana being a two-time ROH World Tag Team Champion qualified for the challenge and answered the call to challenge Jericho.
Cabana has not been in an AEW ring since his appearance at Gamescom in August of this year. Prior to that his last appearance in an AEW ring was on AEW Dark in March of this year.
Since Tony Khan’s purchase of Ring of Honor Cabana has appeared on both the Zero Hour shows for Supercard of Honor and Death Before Dishonor 2022. Cabana first wrestled for ROH in 2002 and stayed there until 2007. He made his return to the promotion in 2016 and was there until 2019.
Shortly after officially signing with AEW Cabana joined the Dark Order stable and was part of the group until earlier this year.
Although Cabana was unable to defeat Jericho tonight Cabana’s return to AEW and his affiliation with ROH has plenty of history and we could very well see him involved in ROH in the future.
