Toni Storm vs. Thunder Rosa: Original Plans at AEW All Out

Original Plans for Toni Storm vs Thunder Rosa AEW All Out

Toni Storm was expected to challenge AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa at All Out. However, the injury bug has struck again and those plans have now changed drastically. Toni Storm earned the right to challenge for the championship by defeating Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. at AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door in June. This plays into the original plans for All Out as they relate to Storm vs. Rosa

Original All Out Plans for Toni Storm vs. Thunder Rosa

On the recent episode of AEW Dynamite, the emotional Women’s World Champion made the announcement that she is injured and will not be able to compete at All Out. Therefore, AEW announced a special “Interim” AEW World Women’s Championship match that will be decided under Fatal 4-Way rules featuring Storm, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., Jamie Hayter, and Hikaru Shida.

We learned from The Wrestling Observer Radio on Thursday afternoon that AEW had plans for Storm to defeat Thunder Rosa to become the new women’s champion. With that being said, it remains to be seen if we will see Storm walk away from All Out as the Women’s World Champion, or if AEW goes in a different direction.

Rosa posted a message on Twitter thanking everyone for their support and well wishes: “I want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank the #ThunderArmy and the Wrestling Community for the outpour of support and well wishes after my announcement on #AEWDynamite. I will heal and come back soon; your still @AEW Women’s World Champion.
