On Sunday, New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) announced the new makeup for G1 Climax 32 as it will feature 28 participants and will be split into four different blocks with seven wrestlers per block. Then they announced the lineup which featured many of the same names over the last couple of years but also the entry of wrestlers who compete on NJPW STRONG as well as All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Among the biggest names to enter the tournament this year is former G1 Climax finalist Jay White and former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay, both of which missed last year’s tournament due to different scenarios. The first-time competitors are former STRONG Openweight Champion Tom Lawlor, TMDK’s JONAH, David Finlay, and Bullet Club‘s El Phantasmo, who makes the jump from junior heavyweight.
For the first time since 2000, and in the biggest G1 in history, four blocks of seven wrestlers in #g132! The top point scorers in each block will meet in semifinals and finals in the Nippon Budokan in August!https://t.co/VcSWHPvwjq#njpw pic.twitter.com/IYLBVwv5jp
