WWE‘s Friday Night SmackDown is here again! Did anything important happen this week? Well, our WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions (Sasha Banks & Naomi) are currently AWOL (fight the power!) with no certain time-frame on when they are returning, if at all. Speaking of tag team champions, our sole announced match for tonight’s WWE SmackDown is a “winner takes all” tag team unification bout! As always, let’s dive right in and see what’s on offer.
WWE Raw & SmackDown Tag Team Championship Unification Match: Team RK-Bro (c) vs. The Usos (c)
This complaint has been made a lot in recent previews: why is yet another big, championship match set to take place on a throwaway episode of SmackDown? This mammoth-sized tag team title unification bout has been heavily teased for weeks now – with Team RK-Bro (Randy Orton & Riddle) wanting to unify and The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) having been ordered by Bloodline leader and Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, to bring home all the gold. So, given the stakes here, surely this is a pay per view worthy match-up, no? Well, not in the eyes of the WWE creative team, who have penciled it in for tonight’s SmackDown. Ultimately, it could be that this match is inconclusive and the real unification match takes place on a future PPV, but for now, we have the potential possibility that one of these two teams unifies, tonight, on SmackDown. If you want to see this WWE tag team unification match, then make sure to tune into FOX tonight!
