#AndNEW: Athena Wins Warrior Wrestling Women’s Championship

Athena is the new Warrior Wrestling Women’s Champion. She defeated Skye Blue and Shazza McKenzie in a triple threat match at Warrior Wrestling 21 to become champion.

Athena Wins Warrior Wrestling Women’s Championship

Athena made her Warrior Wrestling debut at Warrior 19. She and Thunder Rosa competed to a thirty-minute draw in which Rosa retained the title. At Warrior 20 Athena challenged for the title again along with Skye Blue in a triple threat match. The third time was the charm for Athena to win the Warrior Women’s Championship.

Athena is the fourth woman to hold the Warrior Women’s Championship. Tessa Blanchard was the inaugural champion and held the title until Night 1 of the 2020 Stadium Series when she lost the title to Kylie Rae. Thunder Rosa was announced she was relinquishing the title shortly after her defense at Warrior Wrestling 20. She won the title from Kylie Rae at Night 3 of the 2021 Stadium Series. Thunder Rosa personally crowned Athena with the Warrior Championship as she officially vacated the title at the Bendix Arena in South Bend Indiana.

Warrior Wrestling continues their road trip out of Illinois as they returned to South Bend Indiana for Warrior 21. They will hold their next two events in St.Louis and Grand Rapids respectively in May and June. Time will tell who will be the first to challenge Athena for the title.
