All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) has a jam-packed March scheduled, with the next major tour the Dream Power Series. There will be multiple events for this tour, but one of the most significant events will happen on March 21st, known as Champions Night 3. With the month before Champion Carnival, what title matches do we have in store? Let’s get into it.

All Asia Tag Team Championship Match
Hokuto Omori and Yusuke Kodama have been the defending All Asia Tag Team Champions since the beginning of the year. Since they won it, they have been determined champions and defeated many different outsider teams. In their next title defense, they face off against Dan Tamura and Abdullah Kobayashi. We last saw Kobayashi was last month when he unsuccessfully challenged for the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship.
Dan Tamura has yet to capture a championship in AJPW. He did, however, win the 2020 Jr Tag. Battle of Glory with Hikaru Sato in 2020. Tamura and Kobayashi have been seen having some great chemistry with only a few tag team matches and it could be showcased in their title match on March 12th.
World Junior Heavyweight Championship Match
Over a week later, Champions Night 3 will be taking place. It will feature two more title matches. With the first one being for the World Junior Heavyweight Championship. Hikaru Sato defeated SUGI to capture the championship and is establishing his first defense against Hokuto Omori. This marks Omori’s second title match of the tour.
Hokuto Omori for the past few months has been under the impression that he believes he is the future of the junior division. He faces off against someone who recently won the championship and someone Omori has defeated before in tag team action. Omori and Sato represent a possible changing period for All Japan Pro Wrestling’s junior division. With new blood vs. Veteran dynamic.
It could be a changing moment with Omori finally proving he is the future of that division. Omori could be walking into this match with no championship or potentially two. But Sato recently won this championship and is a veteran of AJPW. so we shouldn’t count him out just yet.
Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship Match
In the main event of Champions Night 3, Kento Miyahara will defend his Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship against Shuji Ishikawa. Shuji Ishikawa is someone who many believed was owed a championship shot when Jake Lee was champion. However, due to COVID-19, he would never gain his shot. Ishikawa was better known in the previous year as the former GAORA TV Champion. A championship that he won from Jun Kasai in mid-2021 and lost in late 2021.
Since losing the championship, Ishikawa expresses a completely brand-new attitude, while Miyahara recently won the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship. Miyahara and Ishikawa have been rivals for years. With most of their most significant work coming out of 2017 & 2018’s All Japan Pro Wrestling. One of the last times that Ishikawa was in that main event level in that capacity with multiple matches.
Kento Miyahara will be making his 2nd championship title defense here. Facing off against someone he in general possesses a mixed record with. Champions Night 3 is scheduled to be a major event as it’s the culminating event before Champion Carnival. So the winner of this match could potentially be going into this tournament as the Triple Crown Champion.
What Else To Expect During The AJPW Dream Power Series?
Dream Power Series and Champions Night 3 suffer from noticeable problems for the tour. With the lack of three championship matches, those championships are the AJPW 6-Man Tag Team Championships, The GAORA TV Championship & World Tag Team Championship. The World Tag Team Championship is understandable, due to both of the champions taking part in non-title action. With Shotaro Ashino most notably facing off against Ryuki Honda.
Elsewhere, Jake Lee will be making his return at Champions Night 3 in a major tag match that includes Suwama. Elsewhere, Yoshitatsu will be facing off against KAZMA Sakamoto in a battle featuring former WWE stars. I believe for this match we could get the answer for the 6 Man Tag Team Championships match that could happen in the future. Meanwhile, Shigehiro Irie isn’t booked for this upcoming tour as well.
The last thing that could be predicted is the announcement of Champion Carnival’s participants. This could be announced during either Dream Power Series on the 12th or Champions Night 3 on March 21st.
