HONOR NO MORE: A Professional Wrestling Industry Changing Faction

Honor No More Faction

October 27, 2021 will always be a sad day in wrestling history. It was on this day that Ring Of Honor (ROH) would announce their extended hiatus. The company released all of their contracted talent from their contracts and the promotion was, seemingly, put to bed. However, something has risen from the ashes. At IMPACT Wrestling’s pay-per-view event, Hard to Kill, a group of former ROH stars invaded the ring and laid waste to some of IMPACT’s brightest stars. Maria Kanellis, Matt Taven, Vincent, Mike Bennett, and PCO shocked the system by jumping ship to IMPACT. This was the beginning of Honor No More.

From there, things have only gotten worse. Kenny King made his presence known by aiding Honor No More and slotting himself into a 10-man tag team match at No Surrender. This is a group with a lot of mileage and, if used correctly, could change the wrestling landscape forever.

Honor No More: Changing the Game

Honor Is Everything

There are a million different ways this story could play out. From the current story being told in IMPACT, it appears that Honor No More are a group outside of ROH. For example, Jonathan Gresham does not condone the actions of this group in any way. Instead, Honor No More are disenfranchised with the rules set in place within ROH. They have chosen anarchy over honor, and this sets up a perfect match for Supercard Of Honor XV.

It looks as though The Foundation will be clashing with Honor No More. The Foundation believe that wrestling should be honored, similar to the rules laid out in ROH. The Foundation currently consists of current ROH Champion Jonathan Gresham, Jay Lethal, Chris Ridgeway, Tracy Williams, Josh Woods, and Rhett Titus.

A civil war within ROH seems like a mouth-watering prospect, especially given the talent involved. Surely, the babyface Foundation come out as victors, but that should not spell the end for Honor No More.

Honor No More Goes Global

Similar to how Bullet Club is used throughout numerous wrestling promotions around the world, Honor No More could easily travel across the globe. Imagine the faction gaining some ground in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Maybe they could jump across and challenge North West Strong in PROGRESS Wrestling? Or…(And probably the most likely) an All Elite Wrestling invasion.

Considering the majority of The Elite made their names within ROH, it would be interesting to see how this dynamic would play out. Essentially, The Elite left ROH to fend for themselves post-All In. So, what now? Who do they side with?

There are several different directions this storyline could take. Maybe The Young Bucks side with Honor No More and leave Kenny Omega in their rearview mirror? Perhaps Bryan Danielson becomes the “leader” of the group due to his history in the promotion… But most importantly, what does CM Punk do?

CM Punk Chooses a Side

CM Punk may be the most interesting person in this storyline. Punk is intrinsically linked to ROH. His bouts with Samoa Joe put the promotion on the map and showcased a style of wrestling that just wasn’t being appreciated in North America at the time. He even referenced ROH in his infamous “pipebomb promo.” Essentially, where would he fall?

His allegiance could fall either way. AEW has embraced Punk with open arms and given him the freedom he desired during his time with WWE. It remains to be seen how, or if, he plays into things.
