Bandido will defend the ROH World Championship at the first-ever TERMINUS event against Baron Black, as announced by the promotion on Christmas Eve. The match was made after Black laid down the challenge to Bandido, stating that “it’s going to be a privilege to take something from you (Bandido) that you have in your possession that you never lost.” The announcement is a bit of a stunner as Bandido was unable to defend the ROH World Championship at Ring of Honor’s final pay-per-view, Final Battle, prior to their “reimagining.” It led to Jonathan Gresham, co-owner of the TERMINUS promotion alongside Black, winning the original version of the ROH World Championship in the main event against Jay Lethal. This will be the first official defense for Bandido since Nov. 5.

Gresham has been defending the championship outside of ROH thus far and will defend his version of the ROH World Championship at IMPACT Wrestling’s Hard To Kill pay-per-view against Chris Sabin. With ROH expecting to make their return in April 2022, it will be interesting to see how both ROH World Champions continue to defend their gold now that Bandido remains champion. Gresham is also set to be a part of the first TERMINUS event as well but has no match announced as of this writing.
The other matches announced for the TERMINUS event are as followed:
- Liiza Hall vs. Janai Kai
- Moose vs. Alex Coughlin
- IMPACT Digital Media Championship: Jordynne Grace (c) vs. Kiera Hogan
- Lee Moriarty vs. Jay Lethal
- Dante Caballero & Joe Keys vs. Tracy Williams & Fred Yehi
- JDX vs. Daniel Garcia vs. Invictus Khash vs. Adam Priest in a Terminal Eliminator Match
