Yoshitatsu, Takayuki Ueki, and Seigo Tachibana Capture the AJPW TV Six-Man Tag Team Championship

This is a match that should’ve been a title defense for Yoshitatsu, Seigo Tachibana, and Carbell Ito. However, due to the absence of Ito, the championships were declared vacant. The new champions being crowned at Champions Night 2. In this match, Yoshitatsu, Takayuki Ueki, and Seigo Tachibana defeated TAMURA, Reimu Imai, and Takao Omori to become the new champions. This will mark both Yoshitatsu and Seigo’s Tachibana’s 2nd reign with the titles. It also marks the first title that Takayuki Ueki has held in All Japan Pro Wrestling. Izanagi Captures the AJPW World Junior Heavyweight Championship

In the next title match, Izanagi faced off against SUGI for the AJPW World Junior Heavyweight Championship. This match showcased a defining moment in Izanagi’s career, as he finally won the World Junior Heavyweight Championship. This victory could be considered a major upset considering his roll-up victory. This is Izanagi’s first time holding this championship in his over 5-year run in AJPW.

This was a very emotional moment in the career of Izanagi; for the past four years, he experienced drastic career changes, constant failures, and gimmick changes. These trials led to him finally becoming champion. It’s currently unknown who Izanagi’s first title defense will be against. With the history of AJPW, a new challenger could be crowned during or after the Real World Tag League. The same could be said following the other title matches at Champions Night 2.

Synopsis of AJPW Champions Night 2

Champions Night 2 was one of the longest AJPW shows of 2021, featuring four championship matches, two resulting in title changes. During this show, Shotaro Ashino and Suwama retained the AJPW World Tag Team Championship going into the Real World Tag League. The main topic, however, was the main event match between Kento Miyahara and Jake Lee for the Triple Crown Championship, going for a historic 60 minutes, something unheard of in modern-day AJPW and the title in question.

This hasn’t happened since 2008, which speaks to the importance of this match. It also means the story of Miyahara, and Lee isn’t over yet. As the Real World Tag League looms, new contenders could come out coming for all the championships in All Japan Pro Wrestling. AJPW truly ended one of their biggest shows of the year on a major cliffhanger.
