2. WWE Night of Champions 2025
Last year’s Night of Champions was also one of the most anticipated events in 2025.
The event featured a main event that fans had wanted to see, which was John Cena facing off against CM Punk for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
The match was huge, especially as it was the last time that we would see these two men wrestle, as Cena would be retiring at the end of the year. It was also a heated rivalry as Punk was upset about Cena turning heel and becoming somebody that he was not.

In the match, Cena and Punk would go on to have a match that gave the fans a lot of nostalgia and even featured the two having to team up and fight against an interfering Vision, who were trying to help Seth Rollins cash in and win the WWE Title. Cena would take advantage of this and retain his WWE Title.
The event also featured a big King of the Ring final match between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes. The two wrestlers would put on a great match to end the King of the Ring Tournament. Rhodes would win and earn a WWE Title match against John Cena at SummerSlam.
Jade Cargill would also defeat Asuka to win the Queen of the Ring Tournament, which earned her a WWE Women’s Championship match at SummerSlam against Tiffany Stratton.
The event also featured Rhea Ripley defeating Raquel Rodriguez in a Street Fight, Solo Sikoa defeating Jacob Fatu to win the United States Title, and Sami Zayn defeating Karrion Kross.
1. WWE Night of Champions 2023
This Night of Champions may have been the biggest and best Night of Champions event yet.
It was a great night to be remembered, as things kicked off with the finals of the World Heavyweight Championship tournament between Seth Rollins and AJ Styles. Rollins and Styles would deliver a great 20-minute match, and at the end, Seth Rollins would be victorious and be able to call himself the first World Heavyweight Champion (2023).
Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus would also face each other after weeks of feuding over Trish’s betrayal of Lynch and Lita. Trish would continue to establish herself as a heel and would get the victory, with help from her brand-new protege, Zoey Stark.
Brock Lesnar would also defeat Cody Rhodes in a rematch of their encounter at Backlash in Puerto Rico, which Rhodes won. Rhodes would put in another valiant effort against Lesnar, but in the end, Rhodes would pass out to Lesnar’s kimura lock.
In the main event, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn would defeat Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa to retain their Unified WWE Tag Team Championships. This match was a huge turning point for the Bloodline story, as The Usos would finally turn on Roman Reigns and would end up costing them the match. This also marked the end of Owens and Zayn’s feud with The Bloodline, as they were finally able to get a significant victory against Roman and Solo.
Other notable matches on the show included Asuka defeating Bianca Belair to win the WWE Women’s Championship, Rhea Ripley retaining her Women’s World Title in a minute against Natalya, and Gunther retaining his Intercontinental Championship against Mustafa Ali.
