Thursday Night iMPACT Review – The Nygma’s View

Ricky Sosa, the troublemaker

Mike Santana asked it: he wanted to kick off the show with his match against Eric Young. It was exactly the kind of match you could expect from a veteran like Eric Young and the Champion that Santana is: violent, destructive, and good. Young targeted Santana’s neck, unloading neckbreakers.

Later, Santana called for Spin the Block. Young avoided it, charged at Santana, but went into the referee instead. He dropped Young with Spin the Block, then went for the cover, but the referee was down for the count. Young went for a NutCracker, grabbed the title belt, and slammed it into Santana’s head and neck. He crushed Santana with a Piledriver, went for a cover, and Santana got his hand on the bottom rope. Ricky Sosa distracted Young, and Santana rolled him up to secure the pinfall.

Just after the match, Nic Nemeth hit the iMPACT zone with his Call Your Shot trophy. He helped Santana to his feet, and Nemeth is a man of his word. He is ready to call his shot at TNA Slammiversary for the TNA World Championship (as we all knew it).

Totally inelegant

Elijah heads to the ring-side while addressing the events that unfolded last week. They served Elijah papers again, and while Elijah was distracted, the bell rang. Mr. Elegance attacked him from behind and secured an early pinfall against him by rolling up Elijah. AJ Francis arrived, and Elijah attacked him into the crowd.

While Mr. Elegance was celebrating, TNA Knockouts World Champion Léi Ying Lee attacked him and dropped Mr. Elegance inside the ring. Xia Brookside rushed out and attacked her. She tried to set up for Darkside, and Lee countered her with Warriors Way. Lee tried to continue, but Brookside dashed out of the ring to avoid her.

Be careful of the Moose

Leon Slater and Fabian Aichner teamed up against the System. The match was pretty good, but once again, we talked about the System. When Slater connected with a Superkick, Aichner followed up with a Tornado DDT. And TNA World Tag Team Champions Bear Bronson and Brian Myers interfered.

Slater followed suit and leveled Cedric Alexander and Eddie Edwards on the outside. Alisha Edwards interfered behind the referee’s back, stopping Slater from entering the ring. Cedric Alexander dropped Slater with a Lumbar Check for the win. After the match, the brawl erupted, and Moose arrived. The System rushed out of the ring, but Moose was ready to put an end to The System. At Slammiversary, it will be Moose vs. Eddie Edwards.
