MJF (c) vs. RUSH – AEW World Title Match
That feud between Kevin Knight and Speedball Mike Bailey is very similar to the 2009-2010 WWE feud between John Morrison and The Miz, in which the less talented heel won the feud and became more successful than the uber-talented babyface.
Speaking of Miz, the “less famous Miz,” MJF, just won the belt back from Darby Allin and will easily retain against anyone he defends against on these weekly shows. Darby Allin was treating the world title like a mid-card title with open challenges, but MJF will defend more sparingly.
Unfortunately, for RUSH, he is the first victim after defeating Orange Cassidy, Brian Cage, and Lio Rush in a Superstation Fatal Four Way, thanks to a Jake Doyle return. Mark Briscoe is next after interrupting MJF’s celebration, and Andrade is not too far behind after defeating Ace Austin and beefing with MJF on Twitter months ago.
Although Allin had an amazing accomplishment with the most title defenses out of any champion in history, the title needs to be treated as special. MJF brings back stability and won’t fight for free, and it all begins on this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite.
