Thursday Night iMPACT Preview (5/28/26) – Champions Challenges

Here is the TNA Thursday Night iMPACT preview of the May 28, 2026, episode. With five matches, this episode is a Champions Challenge one. All the TNA Champions will face former, current, or (maybe) future challengers. With six titles, involving five men and three women, we know we’ll have a 3-on-3 Knockouts match and a 5-on-5 Men’s match.

As TNA Wrestling announced its full 2026 schedule of live events and PLEs, we know that we are now on the road to TNA Slammiversary on June 28. This may look like a long ride to the PLE, but it gives more reasons to watch Thursday Night iMPACT weekly on AMC (or TNA+). The show is now reuniting around 200K people every week on TV, so let’s get it on this way.

Last night on NXT, there was no content related to TNA Wrestling. If all the TNA titles are now back home, the partnership is not done. Arianna Grace and Stacks are not done with TNA Wrestling. Crossing the lines also means crossing the reviews. NXT may be a WWE show; observing what happens on Tuesday nights has become essential to understanding what may happen on Thursday nights. With that in mind, let’s now Nygma-dive into the episode.

Thursday Night iMPACT Preview (5/28/26) – The Stakes at TNA Wrestling

This week on TNA Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC, tensions explode across the night as the Men’s Champions Challenge and Knockouts Champions Challenge bring the biggest names in TNA face-to-face in high-stakes showdowns. TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella collides with NXT’s Stacks in a deeply personal fight.

The Men’s Champions Challenge takes center stage as every current champion collides with a dangerous team of All-Stars in a high-stakes showdown. With championship opportunities on the line for anyone who can pin a titleholder, every moment of the match could bring an All-Star one step closer to gold.

The Knockouts Champions Challenge brings the division’s top champions and rising stars together in a high-stakes battle where every pinfall could earn a future title opportunity. With pride, momentum, and championship aspirations on the line, the Knockouts division is set for an explosive clash.

After interrupting Cedric Alexander’s TNA X-Division Championship celebration, laying out The System, and trapping the new TNA X-Division Champion in a chokehold, Fabian Aichner makes it clear he is coming for the top of the division. Eddie Edwards brings the issue to Director of Operations Daria Rae, and she grants him the match. Now the two are set to collide as Edwards looks to shut Aichner down.

The rivalry between Director of Authority Santino Marella and NXT Stacks continues to spiral out of control after weeks of escalating confrontations. After Santino nearly struck with the Cobra, Director of Operations Daria Rae took the situation to the board and officially signed the match, setting the stage for another heated battle.

After a heated confrontation erupted between Tessa Blanchard and Harley Hudson, tensions boiled over into an official match. Tessa is looking to make an example out of Harley, while Harley plans to prove she won’t be intimidated by one of the Knockouts division’s most controversial stars.

Thursday Night iMPACT Preview (5/28/26) – The Nygma’s View

Champions Challenges

TNA World Champion Mike Santana, TNA X-Division Champion Cedric Alexander, TNA World Tag Team Champions Bear Bronson & Brian Myers, and TNA International Champion Mustafa Ali face Eric Young, Leon Slater, Frankie Kazarian, Elijah, and KC Navarro. EY is the official #1 contender for the TNA World Championship, and Slater is the former TNA X-Division Champion. KC Navarro usually teams up with Nic Nemeth (he was in Australia when taping took place).

If we want to play the “Guess Who?” game, that will mean whether Elijah or Frankie Kazarian is a potential challenger for the TNA International Championship. Nygma says: We are a month away from TNA Slammiversary, which means I won’t build castles in the sky (in France, we shoot plans on a comet). There’s another taping session in 10 days. The big question here is: Will they be able to team up, Champions like Challengers?

TNA Knockouts World Champion Léi Ying Lee and TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions the Elegance Brand will have to team up, too. The question is (as of writing): Against whom? The Knockouts Tag Team division is not stacked. It could be the Diamond Collective (Victoria Crawford and Mila Moore) or the Undead Gang (Rosemary, Allie, and/or Mara Sadé).

Xia Brookside defeated Jada Stone last week, making her a strong contender for the TNA Knockouts World title. She’s not the only one who could ask for a title match, think Elayna Black or Indi Hartwell. Nygma says: same big question here, will they be able to team up, Champions like Challengers? The Personal Concierge and Mr. Elegance won’t be too far, for sure.

And other Challenges

Fabian Aichner ruined Cedric Alexander’s celebration last week, so he faces Eddie Edwards this week. Maybe, last week, he was able to stop the whole System and attack Alexander, but he will probably stop believing in miracles this week. This is the System; fight one, get beaten up by all. Nygma says: Some things are meant never to change.

Tess Blanchard faces Harley Hudson on the TNA Thursday Night iMPACT episode of May 28 (TNA Wrestling)

Tessa Blanchard faces Harley Hudson. Blanchard is a third-generation wrestler, as Hudson had to fight her way to TNA Wrestling.  This match comes a bit outta nowhere, but it can also be a chance for Harley Hudson to grab a very important win for the future. Then, Tessa Blanchard means the Diamond Collective. Nygma says: Broken record time. Some things are meant never to change.

Santino Marello makes a Milan Miracle to grace us with his in-ring presence. He faces his “son-in-law,” NXT’s Stacks. Will Arianna Grace make a choice? You bet: Hubby, yes; Daddy, no. Nygma says: Marella couldn’t make a Milan Miracle and avoid a DQ because of his daughter. Then, he could make another if Indi Hartwell came to his help.

I’ll see you on Friday with all the results and the review. Stay tuned as I chat with Vincent and Dutch on Thursday. As I have already said many times, 2026 is a loaded year for TNA Wrestling. Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC era is nothing but Nygma. How else could it be? Till then, may the Nygma be with you.
