Je’Von Evans has had an amazing start to 2026. He began the year getting called up to Monday Night Raw after a very impressive two-year run in NXT. His first official main roster match didn’t go according to plan, as he lost to El Grande Americano on the January 19 Raw. But since then, he has beaten everyone in his path. He defeated Americano two weeks later, then teamed with him in a victory against Los Americanos the next week.
Last Monday, he took part in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match. Facing Dominik Mysterio and Gunther, it would be tough for him to pull out the victory. Against all odds, he ended up winning and earning a spot in the Elimination Chamber on Saturday. How would he impress fans this week on Raw?
Offset Helps Evans Beat Kofi Kingston in Energetic Match
The February 23 Raw was a very special one for a huge reason. It took place in Atlanta, Georgia, where AJ Styles lives, with celebration and a WWE Hall of Fame induction closing the show. Also appearing was rapper Offset, who is also from Atlanta. He ended up being a key part of the show for Evans.
But who was he going to face in the match? Kofi Kingston was the man standing opposite him this week, looking for a win to get the New Day back on track. The match started with each man trying to get offense in on the other.
On the outside, Offset was cheering on Evans, who got in high-impact moves early. Two kicks sent Kingston to the ground, then a tornado splash kick allowed Evans to get the cover. Kingston kicked out, then delivered the SOS to get a cover of his own.
Evans kicked out, and the match continued. After a red dot kick that sent Kingston to the outside, Evans dove onto him, sending both men to the ground. Kingston was pushed back in the ring, but some help arrived before Evans joined him. Grayson Waller slapped Evans in the face and rolled him into the ring. Kingston did a leg drop and pinned him, but Evans kicked out. Waller turned his attention to Offset, who sent him through a table.
Woods tried to confront him as well, leading to Kingston getting distracted. That allowed Evans to hit the OG Cutter for the pinfall victory. Once again, it was a very impressive win for the young star. If he performs well at the Elimination Chamber on Saturday, there’s no question that title opportunities will come sooner rather than later.
