The Rock vs CM Punk (WWE Championship Match; Elimination Chamber 2013)
This was one of the more unexpected mini-programs to start 2013, but it was also a great one. The Rock and CM Punk were money on the stick and had the world eating out of the palms of their hands. Their Royal Rumble match was a great precursor to this contest that followed.
CM Punk and The Rock had more momentum under their belts when this contest came around. They worked a very entertaining match, with the added stipulation that The Rock would lose the title if he were disqualified. It was a fun way to incorporate some uncertainty into the match, and it was played off well by both men, utilizing Paul Heyman and creative spots to injure the refs. In the end, The Rock walking away victorious was telegraphed, but this was a WWE Championship match that was more about the journey.
