WWE had already announced that Dominik Mysterio would be back in action defending his AAA Mega Championship against Vikingo at Worlds Collide on March 14, but it seems like fans won’t have to wait that long for the champ’s in-ring return.
Dominik Mysterio is officially making his way back into a WWE ring, and it’s happening next week. On Monday, Liv Morgan announced that Mysterio was set to be in action a week from today in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match. Mysterio noted that Adam Pearce said he also needs to defend the Intercontinental Championship upon his return. It is unclear if his title will be on the line in next week’s qualifier or if he’ll be defending it in the coming weeks.
Dominik Mysterio May be Entering the World Title Picture
2025 was quite simply Mysterio’s year before an injury in September put a premature end to his run. But now, he’s back, and he’s perhaps getting his first real taste of the world title picture. It hasn’t been announced who Dominik Mysterio will be facing in his in-ring return, though it should be in the form of a triple threat, as that is how the Elimination Chamber qualifying matches are being decided. Thus far, Randy Orton has become the first man to lock up his spot in the structure following his victory on SmackDown, followed by either LA Knight, Penta, or Austin Theory on Raw.
A win next week for Dominik Mysterio would put him in his first-ever Elimination Chamber match. He is 0-2 in previous attempts to qualify, including losing to Kevin Owens in 2024 and, alongside deadbeat dad Rey, losing to King Corbin and Sami Zayn in 2021. But that was a very different version of Dominik. Since 2025, Mysterio has risen in the ranks and has garnered immense praise as one of the top superstars of the future, according to the likes of John Cena, AJ Styles, and others. He certainly has a shot to advance to the Chamber next week on Raw.
