The February 2, 2026, episode of Monday Night Raw saw an unexpected encounter occur. Making their first main roster appearance in two months, the War Raiders were ready for action. Erik and Ivar stood in the corner, awaiting their tag team opponents. A familiar theme echoed throughout the arena.
Out came Oba Femi, two days removed from an impressive Royal Rumble performance. Michael Cole and Corey Graves noted he was still a free agent and not signed to any brand. He immediately took the fight to Erik and Ivar, entering the ring.
They tried their hardest, but his powerful strikes rendered any offense useless. After 30 seconds of nonstop carnage, he delivered the Fall from Grace to Erik, ending any hope of a comeback. Many people questioned why the War Raiders were used in this scenario, but there are many reasons why it made perfect sense.
Femi Already Has Shown People What He Can Do
Usually, squash matches are used as a showcase for large men like Femi to show off their power. A local enhancement talent is used for that scenario, as they want to make the WWE contracted talent look good.
However, the fans already know how good Femi is. He had a great match with Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event two months ago. Even though it ended in a no-contest due to Drew McIntyre’s interference, he got in a ton of offense against the then-Undisputed WWE Champion.
He entered the Rumble at number 1 and eliminated the first 5 guys in the match. There’s no question that he is a strong and powerful man. A simple enhancement squash match would’ve been useless. Fans are already very familiar with his talent. Using talent like the War Raiders shows that he can handle the veterans on the roster.
The War Raiders Equal Him in Size and Strength
Knowing that the encounter was going to be a 2-on-1 squash, WWE had to answer a question. Who would make Femi look the best out of the current roster? They could’ve picked Los Americanos or an NXT tag team like Kale Dixon and Uriah Connors of Chase University. But they’re nowhere near the size of him, so everyone would expect him to win. But the War Raiders are equal to him, if not bigger, in size and strength.
Fans probably thought Erik and Ivar would at least knock him down a couple of times, but they got no offense in whatsoever. In fact, the bell didn’t even ring to signal a match. Erik and Ivar couldn’t do anything to knock him off his game. A squash of two people the same size as him was exactly what Femi needed to get fans on his side.
Erik and Ivar Showcased How Powerful He Is
What started as a simple tag team match against unknown opponents quickly turned into a nightmare for the War Raiders. Erik and Ivar couldn’t have predicted that Oba Femi would walk down the ring and immediately start pounding away at him. No bell rang anytime during the fight.
It wasn’t even considered a match because it was worse than that. No security would help them as he threw them around for 30 seconds. Fans of the War Raiders might be angry, but they did exactly what they needed to do.

By making this look like an unprovoked attack, they showed everyone Femi is as good as advertised. He didn’t even wait for a bell to ring; he just started wailing away on them without any second thoughts. This was a great way to showcase his strength and talent to fans and the rest of the roster.
